^ Yeah Swimming Pool brings back some memories. It's been awhile since I've seen it, but I thought basically the girl was just some plain old chick and the woman made everything up in her head.
7/3/2012 7:56:04 PM
the plain chick she saw at the end was the daughter right? I may need to watch teh end again, it was definitely the daughter at first and then it looked like it changed to someone else
7/3/2012 8:01:50 PM
Yes. From what I understand the girl was always plain looking and boring all along. The old woman was just imagining all the lurid shit that happened.

If it hasn't been said already, Sherlock. It'd a TV series produced by BBC, but the episodes are an hour and a half long, so about the length of a short movie.

I suggest Running The Sahara. It's not that it's really awesome or really good. I liked it enough. But the reason why it's so interesting is that it introduces you to a guy named Charlie Engle. Engle is a North Carolina native, his father played freshman basketball at UNC under Dean Smith, his grandfather ran XC and track at UNC, and then he also went to UNC. Engle ended up getting really into alcohol and drugs, especially crack cocaine and then got clean and started running and doing ultramarathons (long races like 100+ miles of jogging etc). So anyways, Running The Shara is about him and two of his friends starting at the Atlantic Ocean in Senegal and running all the way to the Red Sea in Egypt. No one has ever done this before. So why do I want you to care about Engle. Throughout the documentary you start to see the douche come out of Engle, but really he's running like 40 miles miles a day through the Sahara, it's to be expected. The point of all of this is what happens to Engle after this movie was released.Apparently, a federal agent saw the documentary and got fixated on Charlie Engle. He thought how would it be possible that a man from NC could afford to take the time to train for this and then do it. So hellbent on finding out how, he started going through this man's tax records and found nothing. Then he went to the man's house and went through his trash and found nothing. Then he got an attractive woman to wear a wire and flirt with him to find information...it's insane.Runner's World profile on Charlie Engle(before the federal agent's investigation and the trial) http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-243-297--12524-0,00.htmlNY Times article details the depths people in the government will go if they want to screw you over and send you to prison. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/26/business/26nocera.htmland its update, he was released from prison June 20thhttp://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/02/opinion/nocera-the-mortgage-fraud-fraud.html/wall of words, I just found it interesting]

I've seen Heckler a few times. Really good.
7/16/2012 4:28:25 PM
Is Goon really great? I see Sean William Scott on the cover and 'great' doesn't come to mind. Doesn't even really even enter the thought process.
7/16/2012 4:43:57 PM
it's probably his most sincere role he's ever had and one of, if not, the first movies he was in after an extensive rehab. it's definitely worth the 90 minutes and there are a lot of laughs mixed in with a good underdog story. plus it's got Liev Schreiber
7/16/2012 4:58:28 PM
I'm sold, but I'm taking it out on you if I don't like it.
7/16/2012 5:00:50 PM
I liked Goon a lot. Very pleasant surprise. Funny and heart-felt.It's by no means "great" though

Sexy French Films?:Secret Things - A dark movie with a lot of nudity, playing on the theme, "Whoever cares less wins, until they lose."Water Lillies - Haven't seen it yet, but ... it's supposed to be a hot/thoughtful, French girls coming of age story ...
