Swan Quarter and Ocracoke have been a staple of my life ever since I was 1 yr. old

I learned how to fish in SQ, made some of the best memories ever with my Grandaddy down there.

Belhaven is amazing. That's where my grandparents are from and my dad spent all his summers. I love going over there. 4th of July is amazing there I highly recommend it

if you get down to the shrimp boats and docks @ Swan Quarter, across from there used to be a hotel and several mobile homes that people had for summer fishing getaways. My grandparents owned two there. The stingy man who own it let it get run down and everyone left so he could sell the land to developers for condos...

now, our spot is @ the flashing light in the little Rose Bay intersection

I have not read this thread, but I will respond to it anyway.

I was originally from Connecticut, but moved to NC in 1997. I really did not care for the area at first. It consisted of mainly old people, many of whom "immigrated" to the South the escape the cold that is the North in the winter. Unfortunately, my parents chose an isolated area where I was surround by nothing but ticking time bombs. Sure, they're nice, and they'll pinch your cheeks and give you kisses on the cheek, which gets damn annoying after the first time it happens, but it's not the same. I really did not care to hear about their foot fungus or erectile dysfunction from the less older gentlemen. Unfortunately, I know too much about stuff I really shouldn't know about for a person in his early twenties. I really do not care to know about menopause and how it causes you to feel temperature fluctuations, even though the AC unit in the house is working perfectly fine.

Moving on, I eventually worked on a golf course, bringing home more than minimum wage at the time (minimum wage was $5.15 for those who forget too soon). The people were great and the atmosphere was pressure free for the most part. But all in all, I was getting paid crap. When I went to NCSU, it was like a world was opened for me. Beer, women (without sagging tits), intelligence and a laid back atmosphere (for the most part).

Now on my fourth year at NCSU, I can't help but look back at all that I didn't accomplish, and think, "Man, it had its ups and downs, but it was a good run." I hope that my run can get better when I leave college, but I know that it will not. However, I feel that hope is what we live for. Hope to get married, hope to have kids, hope to have a good job, hope to get mad bitches and premium strange. Without hope, what do we have to look forward to? I do not wish to become one of those people who are unhappy with their lives, but I know that it is a real possibility, for any of us. You may not end up with someone who's right for you, or anyone at all, you may end up at a dead end job making shit, but unable to change careers because you don't want to move because of your kids.

Yes sir, I look forward to the future.

I hope that what I have posted has contributed greatly to this thread and helped you find out a little something about yourself.
