I used to play skyrim, but then i took an arrow to the fucking face, and it stayed there until some giant stepped on me for touching his mammoth.

Is anyone else married yet? Skyrim is quite progressive in its stance on gay marriage, but I decided to go with my housecarl chick from Solitude, we had a real connection, the ceremony is tomorrow sometime.

I got married but I'm really tired of my wife. i think there's a procedure for getting a 'divorce' that involves murdering her and then resetting the quest...

what is the point of getting married? assume there is more to it than the skill up pork

also, anyone else notice a glitch with the misc button on your inventory? most of the time when I click it when trying to sell or transfer shit it just exits out of the inventory window back to the dialogue

as far as I can tell, marriage is there so that your girlfriend has something to pay attention to and nag you about

If you marry certain people such as a shopkeep they will work for you and leave gold and shit and you can openly trade items with them. I think if you marry trainers you get free training, etc.

Mage College in Winterhold is the first place with legit storage IIRC?

I wouldn't trust the storage there to be safe. I've noticed that the soul gems and ingredients in the room they give you respawn eventually.

Just sell some of your stuff and get the 5000 needed to get the whiterun house.

I'm level 39 and have just now decided to visit Riften. First town I have been to outside of Whiterun and Winterhold briefly. Half the world is still empty looking to me. Stupid distractions!

if you helped the Stormcloak guy in Helgen, his wife will give you a key to their house in Riverwood. I stored my shit in the dresser next to the bed.

Ended up moving everything to Whiterun when I bought the Breezehome. Turns out you can fast travel on a horse while overencumbered

I can't hardly go anywhere without fighting a dragon

I was doing the mission where you take Frost and Frost's ownership papers to Louis Letrush, and every time I'd almost be to Louis, some fucking dragon would attack...best case scenario, I'd kill the dragon, but when I'd talk to Louis he'd be like "I see you but I don't see Frost" and I just couldn't find the horse, even though the one time I saw Frost die, it told me the mission was failed.

I finally ended up running from the Blackbriar Lodge to Louis, killing the dragon on the way, then running all the way back to get Frost once the coast was clear. Pain in the ass.

The biggest pain in the butt about enchanting all of those daggers with banish is getting the shopkeepers to buy them. I had to use the +500 Septim Speech Perk to help out, but still the shopkeepers still only have enough to buy maybe two daggers.

HOWEVER, I went back to Riverwood Traders and the guy, for some reason, had 10k Septim!!!

started my 2nd playthrough last night. following through on my want to play differently; so going with a Wood Elf concentrating on archery and sneaking. it's so crazy going back to a level 1 character in the beginning after building a level 45 character.

I'm at level 37 now and am where I want to be skill-wise to start the main quest. I'm right outside of Ustengrav and going to get the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller.

is it possible to remain neutral and finish the main quest or do you have to eventually join the legion or stormcloaks?

^I never joined or took a quest for either group in my first playthrough, so yes you can complete the game and remain neutral.

Never played this type of game before in my life. Watched a buddy play Fallout/NV for a while, but still didn't seem my speed. Then for some reason I saw this game being played, bought it, and have been as addicted as my schedule allows ever since.

Level 18, finished up with the Companions and just started with the Stormcloaks. I dunno if the Imperial guys are always supposed to be this easy, or if the designers just figured people would pick a side earlier in the game, but I'm massacring them like dogs and enjoying it immensely (esp. since some of the Companions missions gave me a much harder time).

Sadly I didn't think through some of my earlier skill/perk choices, so my character is still kind of scattershot and just now beginning to take shape...no big deal, having a blast.

I had a huge final fantasy love affair when i was younger...i think i played VII at least five times through, and thoroughly enjoyed many of the others in the series

my other big gaming obsession, among other flings and summer romances, was counterstrike

I saw what diablo 2 and morrowind/oblivion did to my friends so I avoided them. not sure why i decided to pick up skyrim, i wish that i had never installed it. but now that I have...

FFVII on my PS3.

Got into Morrowind when it came out on the XBox.

Addicted to it. Beat it. Sold it.

GOTY Version came out. Bought it. Beat it. Sold it.

Bought it again. Wife made me sell it.

I've been leveling up my enchanting (lvl 52) and smithing (lvl 43) skills, but I'm not using weapons that I've made yet because the effects seem pretty week. Instead I've been using the conjure sword spell and saving my carry weight for stuff to sell.

I can't find it anywhere, but does anyone know how much the base damage is for the conjured sword? At some point I know I can make a weapon that deals more damage with enchantments on it, but I don't actually know when that is.

If you don't have mystic binding it does as much damage as a standard steel sword.

If you do have mystic binding it does as much as a standard deadric sword.

^^you should spam the shit out of iron daggers and leather bracers to boost your smithing

just buy all the iron ingots and ore from the girl and guy in whiterun, smelt the ore into ingots, make as many iron daggers as that will allow, buy all their leather and leather strips, get a 2:1 leather strip : leather ratio at the tanning rack, then spam the shit out of leather bracers...sell your iron daggers and leather bracers and repeat, you'll be at level 90 in no time

I think Dwarven Bow is one of the most profitable items to smith, especially if you have some smithing gear to upgrade it significantly with.

Markarth has a nice dwemer area to explore for the metal to make the ingots. If I had done this earlier I would have bankrolled everything there is to do in the game.

Go into any town, and talk to the first three people you see. After talking with them, you will have seventeen more quests.

oh. i havent been doing that at all.

basically the only quests i have been given are the main story line one (i guess) and the option to join up with one of the two sides, which i dont really want to do yet.

guess ill get to talking to people.

although i've gotten myself into quite a pickle, and not really sure what to do about it. is there a way to roll back from the save points?

and trying to kill a frost troll while on l5 or something on the way to see the graybeards just seemed like something was wrong. haha

after dicking with it for like an hour i ended up figuring out i could hit it a few times from a sneaking position from a good distance with the nord bow and arrow, then when it charged me, drop the scroll of fireball (i think that's what it was called) for it's full charge, then use my novice fire spell (whatever the one you have when you start is), exhausting all my magicka, take a few potions to get the magicka back up, then use the fire spell again. that did it.

i died about 40 times first.

didn't see a dragon on the way up.

depending what lvl you are when you take the trek to the greybeards, you will experience different creatures along the way. i had to deal with a snow cat which bitch slapped me around a few times before figuring out how to kill it. also, i had a frost troll to deal with too. however, no dragons.

right before the stairs up the way where the Troll makes camp (the small ice canyon), there is a small ice ledge that you can climb on and go around to the left of the canyon and avoid the troll
