lol. TOB has a team built for longstanding success. This isn't amato who gets 4 and 5* talent at skill positions. We've got beef on the lines and athletes around them. Thats where it counts. Look at our defensive line...hahaha, thats gonna be a studly line for years on in

Once TOB lays the foundation, we can compete with the USCs, Alabamas, LSUs, FSUs and Tennessees of this world...

I'm not a huge TOB supporter, but he seems to do things the right way, gets us to bowl games (even though it is in Herb Sendek gotta win the last # of games style), and beats UNC. I am concerned about the constant slow starts to the season, weak recruiting, and wtf losses (BC/Wake/Maryland, etc). I mainly want a football team that is in contention for the ACC title game once every 2-3 years going into the final game. So far (although it was only once) he has met that criteria with the help of RW. Who knows if we can do that without him?

Don't know if this has been posted anywhere yet, but it looks like TicketReturn has been ditched this season for student tickets: http://www.gopack.com/students

While that initially sounds like a good thing, I could easily see any other system being worse.

We haven't won the ACC in 99% of TWW's lives and yet most of you expect titles.

We couldn't win it before VT, FSU, and Miami. It is amazing the expectations for football around here.

If we keep winning 7,8, and 9 games and constantly beating UNC, we should be thrilled.

^^ That's the kind of attitude that Debbie Yow is trying end. She wants to compete for national championships in every sport. It's presented in a corny way, but I like the Wolfpack Unlimited initiative.

Quote :
" In her introductory press conference, she presented her “Wolfpack Unlimited” initiative, spelling out a number of very specific goals for the NC State Athletics program. One of those goals was that “every sport with a full complement of scholarships should be among the nation’s top 25, working towards the top 10 and competing for conference and national championships.”"

http://www.gopack.com/genrel/062712aae.html

There is no reason we, as a fan base, can't expect to compete for national championships over time.

and maybe we won't. but theres no sense in keeping the same coach if theyre not going to get us there.

Exactly. I'm usually happy with a season if I can see that we're making real progress, which we seem to have done over the past two seasons (despite a worse record). If we keep making progress, the upper limit is a national championship.

Season preview, nothing too special in it though.

Looking up a few posts, I honestly didn't think Jarvis Byrd was still on the team. Glad I'm wrong.

That said, has anyone heard anything about him? I know he tore his ACL (again) last year. Didn't know if he was practicing again yet.

the last photo is from the August 1st, 2012 N&O photo album, so yes

in the preseason depth chart released one month ago, Byrd was listed 2nd string behind C.J. Wilson, although recently the staff has mentioned moving Johnson to corner opposite of Amerson. However with all the pass-heavy offenses in today's game, I'm sure the playing time will be distributed around.

Leatham has never played a snap, has he? So couldn't he be a red-shirt freshman? Or can non-scholarship players not red-shirt?

Not sure of an exact number, but I was told that sales were steady before being called out and they stayed steady afterwords, so no real boost in sales after being called out.

(we have two burriss's on the team
and two clark's
and we would have two underwood's, except i forgot what happened to curtis (graduated?)
and we'd have two green(e)'s, if DJ didn't take some supplements "that were given to him")
