i just got my betsey johnson earrings and necklace in the mail. they are gorgeous. my husband brought me a cute little necklace in chile too, little wildflowers in a clear plastic 'stone', surrounded by silver scrollwork. i'm just about set for sundress weather if we can get some it snowed today

i posted this in the wedding thread but i just got my wedding headband in and wanted to let yall know that Luciabella1 on etsy made this and does fabulous work so if ya wanna check her out....

the headband came in a little over a week (from CA) and it was packaged really well with a hand written note saying thank you. she even included a really cute flower bobby pin (one of those nice metal heavy duty bobby pins).

ever mourned the loss of a missed shopping opportunity? i just can't get over not buying these earrings. I told myself I had to wait until I got paid and they were gone before. sigh.

This happened to me before with this dress. Didn't buy it because I wanted to save my pennies first, then by the time I saved up, it was gone. Saw it on a lame boutique site by accident way afterwards and they had marked the price way up. I almost bit, though. thank goodness it had sold by the next time I checked that site.



my new fixation is this dandelion tunic. it's $45 though, and in the uk. I think i will order some leggings from there because they seem extrordinarily cheap for the nice colors, going to be hard to drop that from my cart.

The wife and I just went out over lunch today to pick up a couple rugs we had been eying for awhile. They were both really nice, 100% wool rugs but were a little bit pricier than some other options we had looked at. Anyway, our local Capel had them on sale this week PLUS we had a 20% off coupon to use at the same location. Ended up walking out of there with $1000 worth of rugs from them for $630.

We got the left one in 7'x9' for the dining room and the right one in 3'x5' for the entryway/foyer. Can't wait to get home and make sure the colors work in the space the way we planned

Yea colors in the first one just worked perfectly for what I had in mind in the dining room (at least from viewing it in the store). We have monochromatic green walls in there with different saturations of the same color and I thought carrying the same idea into the rug with a blue would look good. This rug fit the color scheme I had in my mind perfectly and I hadn't found another that I liked more. The graphic is actually a repeating raindrop pattern but I was aware that is does look like hearts as well (especially in this online picture)

I'm thinking once it is on the ground and under the table and all the chairs and such that it won't be as in your face as it is there.

Some places will cut rugs and re-do the edge if you ask them (obviously this would be at a big rug place, a carpet & rug place, and someone like ikea might even do it). Also, certain places also will do custom sizes of the same pattern other than what they sell stock. It is a little more expensive / ft² than the stock but is worth looking into. For example, that 2nd rug that you liked, the 4 stock sizes are all rectangular but they do sell it in whatever custom size you want as well.

Now, that is a somewhat pricey rug because it has a interior designer's name attached to it (which is why we found a way to use it in the 3'x5' size instead of a big area rug) but you might be able to find something you like that isn't as expensive and do the same thing. Just for reference though, in case you are interested, that is the Genevieve Gorder Arabesque rug in Oslo Grey.

a good place to go to look for furniture, rugs, stuff for the house is Green Fronts in Farmville, VA. it's only about an hour from Raleigh on the VA border. they sell a lot of nice designer stuff that has a small crack or nick in the side and back and can't put on their showroom or sell and they also sell a lot of discontinued stuff. i furnished my first apartment by shopping there and only ended up spending about $1000 - and that included box spring and mattress, Lexington headboard, nightstand, hand crafted 6 foot bookshelf, hand crafted dresser, coffee table, and desk.
