This is weird

I have a legit copy of windows xp, licensed for testing, running in a virtual machine. It says it'll stop running after 30 days. Some documentation from MS says 90 days. Either way, it's been running for 115 (and has been saying it's expired for ages) and is completely functional

It has been a slow death for many years now. It started when the mod's formed cliques with certain users and allowed them to drive out good users through shitty post contributions and other dumb nonsense.

It seems though in the past year it really started hemorrhaging and if the place has much activity at all 3 years from now I'll be surprised.

just read the article about the 4 people arrested in Emerald Isle for assaulting a guy. The comments below are priceless though. Such stupid people and basically everyone involved sounds like trash.

I've been following along with that.

I have several mutual friends with the guy that was assaulted, none with the guys that did the assaulting.
Judging on the mutual friends I have with the assaulted guy, I'm guessing that he was pretty innocent in the whole situation.

Granted, I know what it's like to have the news see an arrest and make it look like the person arrested is a horrible person, but this is kinda the opposite of that situation.
My situation was the "victim" was a waste of space and the "bad guy" was a stand up citizen.
This situation is the victim is a stand up guy, and the arrested guys don't have the best reputation....

Three denied health insurance claims despite me supplying them proof of continuous prior coverage for the entirety of my life and any existing conditions. Send an email to the person managing the company's policies who sends the info to them directly and the person at the insurance company claims this is the proof they needed and that they will sort out and reprocess the claims. Their website claims my information is invalid despite all of it perfectly matching both the information on my ID card and on my explanation of benefits forms so I can't look up to see whether they actually reprocessed these things.

It is incredible how terrible BlueCross BlueShield is and I hope they get destroyed in a corporate merger for being so god damn inefficient and terrible. Consistently the most expensive option for my health insurance with the worst actual coverage. I don't understand why any company thinks they are getting a good deal with them.

My new neighbors are annoying as hell. I always know when they get home because for 5-10 minutes after the fact they're slamming their car door(s). EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. They've been here 3-4 months now yet every time they come home it's like they have to unload an entire car load of shit because it's constant door slamming.

I was always suspicious because it seemed they elected to do it from the second deck, so the sound would resonate across the alley. Always glass, always roughly the same time. Suspected a clockwork drinker or a sinister drug lab of some sort.

I lived there for two years, and the exposure to the steady clanging slowly grew on me.

So long and short of it, people have peculiar habits.

..... usually when people move in they end up unloading shit in their cars forever. Give it a few months and they will cut the bullshit and/or you will become more accustomed to their annoying habits and your reptilian cortex will begin to subliminally block them to preserve your own sanity, sort of like losing awareness of the watch that you wear every day.

I had planned that some flakey people wouldn't show up. I'm not actually that worried about it. I think we will have enough food and definitely enough alcohol. Just pretty shocked at the rudeness. Especially since I saw this particular person several weeks ago and she said she would let me know soon. I was pretty over tracking people down so I just assumed she and her husband weren't coming.
