I don't understand the attitude some parents have when they accompany their kids to birthday parties. I get that most parents at children's parties have only met once or twice before (if that) and likely have nothing in common beyond their kids knowing each other. But, really, is it that hard to mingle and make casual conversation for two hours? Can you not find it within yourself to at least pretend to be happy your kid is having fun?

To answer your question: I do sometimes. Usually because

- I'm not allowed to leave the gym if my kid is in the kid's area.
- the weather is shitty and I don't feel like running outside.
- I'm at a hotel and don't feel like running outside.
- I just fucking feel like it.

I had almost forgotten how tortuous these haunting thoughts can be. The realization that life will go on without me is somehow reassuring and heart-breaking all in the same breath. It gives me a feeling of insignificance and a feeling of amelioration. I may be replaced, but I still want to be remembered, without people having to lie about the person I was. I want to bring what little light I can into this dark world, for that is what brings me true happiness.

I found out an acquaintance of mine from my school years moved back to the area. We've kept in touch on social media for a while now. I sent her a message the other day and asked her if she wanted to go out and get a drink sometime when she wasn't busy. She wrote back and thanked me for contacting her and said she was glad to be back. She never said yes, or no.

Did I just get shot down forever, will she probably contact me in a few weeks, or did she take a rain check just in case she changes her mind someday when I hit the lottery?

Anyway, I'm posting this to try to spice up TWW today. There is at least 1 Dumb and Dumber joke in there somewhere and a lot of B4C is creepy jokes too. Have at it!

^I'm not letting it bother me. It takes me just a few seconds to come up with a list of reasons why I shouldn't even bother asking her out. Don't get me wrong, she's cute and she is one of the kindest people in the world. Those two thing are probably what caused me to ask. I don't think we have a lot in common though.

Anyway, this is so sad. There was a time when I could have posted the above story and caused about 20, or 30 posts in an hour where everyone was calling me a creeper and posting silly memes. I miss those days. The glory days of TWW were so much fun.

Okay there could be a problem. I have one of those really rare names where there is just a hand full of people with the same exact name, or the same name with a different spelling. When I google search my own name I discovered some random site has a lot of info correct about me, but it claims I am related to a man that my family is not related to. It also claims I am married. I'm single though. No wonder the girls aren't chasing after me!
