i'm not trolling or anything

but after you guys download some of these albums, and you like it, do you go out and purchase an actual copy?

mostly, I have a pretty large music collection and attend a lot of concerts.

An example: I haven't purchased any Bishop Allen music but I've seen them three times live. It doesn't truly make up for what I've downloaded but it is a start.

I usually end up grabbing it on vinyl, because most of the shit that shows up on bolachas, etc., is stuff that's best listened to in album form, and I find that at home I'm more likely to sit down and really listen to something if I have to get up, put it on the player, and flip it over.

Yeah, I tend to buy stuff on vinyl if I really love it. If I bought a CD, I'd just rip it to my hard drive and never touch it again.

cuz money is limited, i will usually only buy albums on vinyl that i think i'll want to listen to in 5 years

sometimes the selection process is difficult

I guess I'll be the first to say I usually dont buy the album after Ive downloaded it. There are a few exceptions but for the most part Im content with the digital copy that I find.

This is a pretty lame excuse, but I also used to write reviews for a non-defunct online mag and I got used to getting free records.

here is the new TVOTR

hxxps://www.yousendit.com/download/bVlERFFkNmNsamVGa1E9PQ

On further listen, this album is fanfuckingtastic. DLZ is such a good song. I cant stop listening to it. This should definately be a candidate for album of the year.

It's funny, back when I was poor as shit an in college, I bought actual CDs all the time.

Nowadays, like most people have said, I support the bands I love by attending their shows and purchasing vinyl (when it's available) direct from the band.

Does anyone have People Under the Stairs - "Fun DMC"?? I'm not good at searching for this stuff and I'm overseas and would love to put some new stuff on the ipod while I'm traveling.

skeletal lamping is so good!

there are so many awesome parts. it's pretty much one long song, with three dozen movements.

i recant my remarks several pages back about not being able to get into the new Okkervil River album. It has grown on me so much. It helps that LoC on Sirius digs them too

country records should be listened to either while drinking or riding with the windows down

i wish "jack killed mom" was electric piano instead of real piano :-/

it's not bad, but i got so used to the sound of the wurlitzer-style electric piano on the previous versions

one of my favorite sounds (and visuals) ever:

there's one in price music center that i'm going to steal one day
