^ idk, i liked it. TrueBlood season openers have always been about setting up the plot lines for the season. Never anything really significant beyond that that I can recall. And like you said, it's season 4... the people watching are fans. They know what to expect out of the show and i don't think they need some crazy, gimmicky, season opener to entice them to continue to watch.

we have the new look at the ferries. bill has become king + some sort of public official: they'll be able to add to that while giving back story on how it happened.. looks like they're really gonna push the jessica angle more. It appeared Eric is planning to do whatever he wants with sookie. I've always liked lafeyette as a character... i kind of hate that it seems like EVERYONE on the show is something or has some power, but I am interested enough in lafeyette that I want to see what happens there.

the tara angle is stupid - but I hate tara, so I'm kind of bias.

Yeah the beginning of the ep was horrible. I thought he end was ok, but really the only reason I watch is because I've seen every episode, so just for completeness I guess. I'm ok with Tara as long as she's making out with hot chicks, Sookie as long as she's naked with Eric (no homo), and Jessica in general.

I'll take it you watched it on HBO Go as well? I didn't hate ep1 except for the time in faerie land, but I agree ep2 is WAY better based on the opener alone.

well I do (don't knock watching things on an iPad til you try it...quality is good and the HBOGo app is really easy to use--I was pleased)

And I promise I will not discuss plot points or events that happen in episodes I watch on HBOGo prior to their showing on TV ITT. Just like I keep book discussion in the other thread (even if I am the only one that posts in there for the most part )

I wasn't going to watch it, but I decided to b/c my brother brought up a good point...with a baby due any day now I may not have a lot of time to keep up True Blood this summer, so I should watch em while I still have the chance/any chance I get.

I loved the scene with the witches. Marnie was taking on the shape of a much younger woman during that...channeling some ancient energy from the inquisition? Some existing person we've not met yet? Regardless...thought it was a cool scene and I liked how bringing Tara back for that caused laffy to jump right in.

No adv ep on hbo go this week so I'm waiting with you guys to watch the 3rd ep

maybe there's a difference between being born a panther or being turned. Or perhaps it wouldn't be safe to turn the baby (keep in mind what they were doing to turn Jason) and they'd have to wait longer than they'd like for him to be a panther or some shit.

definitely an improvement over the first episode. Enjoyed seeing the resolution of how Bill became King (and him in the 80s).

I'm still confused with Jason's Storyline, but hopefully they'll explain on that.

I like that Tara has become a lot more fatalistic about all the Bon Temps shit than she was...makes her more bearable as a character
