agreed 100%.

I thought I'd never have to see A Skylit Drive ever again after playing with them a few times when they were on Tragic.

i amended my statement until i can check out animals as leaders. i saw them mentioned on the last page but i have never heard of them. i guess i am a tinyyyy bit curious how underoath is without aaron, too.

yea animals as leaders is ok. worlds better than a skylit drive.

And yea, I won't mind seeing Underoath. It has been years since I've seen them at least. I definitely could have thought of a better and more appropriate touring lineup for this tour given the area that Thursday is from and the time Full Collapse came out but oh well.

yeah, i was hoping for a lineup geared more toward that late 90's/early 2000's victory records "emocore" explosion, but i guess a lot of those bands aren't around anymore. it will be a nostalgic night nonetheless.

For sure. There are tons of awesome bands from that region that they are friends with that I was both hoping and expecting them to pull from when this was initially rumored months back. Dillinger Escape Plan, Lifetime, Saves the Day just to name a few and then of course they're from California but Thrice's early material went well with Thursday's as well. But oh well, it will be good anyway like you said.

haha, the first thing that popped into my head was that thrice/thursday show in charlotte a few years back. i always regretted not making that. saves the day would have been nice, too. glad they have survived so long, but sad to see them resigned to an opening slot on a motion city soundtrack and say anything tour. speaking of old favorites, i really wish i could have caught a date on the mae farewell tour. any word on the fsf reunion tour?

hmmm, amos' site has underoath listed as the headliner...

Yea, from what I can tell Underoath is the headliner on this tour which I guess is only weird since it is being billed as Thursday's "Full Collapse" tour but still. And man, Mae, I only saw them once at Aces Basement in probably 2003.

And as far as FSF, they already scheduled a show at a European fest. I haven't seen any more details beyond that really though. I assume they will do some sort of US tour this spring.

I think the night we went there the keyboardist had a broken leg or something and maybe Celebrity was playing. Ryan Parrish (hopesfall's primary songwriter from FOW through TSY) was playing with Celebrity at the time. I think it was the same show at least. I was at Ace's several times during college. Shady place, but it had some good shows. We played our first show ever there.

Speaking of Copeland, their set at the Brewery on the "In Motion" tour was phenomenal.

Anyone planning to go to the Dec 7 show at the Brewery? The Chariot, Cancer Bats, and Stray From the Path are playing. I'm planning to go, mainly to see the Cancer Bats...I've barely heard of the other two bands.

I'm not a huge Cancer Bats fan but they are fun live. The Chariot has been around for awhile (longer than CB). It features/was formed by Norma Jean's original vocalist on their first couple albums including their breakthrough "Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child." They don't sound identical but if you enjoy any of NJ's early stuff you'll probably enjoy them (at least live if they are anything like they were in their early days).

I don't know much about Stray from the Path other than they are on Sumerian Records and I am not a big fan of that label.

Deftones and Dillinger touring together this spring. Should be epic.

Also, Red Animal War is back together and writing a new album.

^ i'm definitely going to try and find a date to go see Dillinger and Deftones.

also, Born of Osiris is putting out a new album in late March. i think a few people in here like them. there's one single available for download on itunes called Follow the Signs. it's the first song in the teaser below. i heard it on XM and thought it was pretty decent.

BTBAM NEWS

Quote :
" Between The Buried And Me Signs With Metal Blade Records
NEXT CHAPTER IN AWARD-WINNING BAND's STORIED CAREER SET TO UNFOLD

Celebrated progressive rock / cutting-edge metal band BETWEEN THE BURIED AN ME (also BTBAM) has inked a worldwide recording deal with Metal Blade Records. The award-winning North Carolina quintet will kick off the partnership with the April release of its new album The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues.

"We are delighted in the opportunity to join the Metal Blade family," commented BTBAM guitarist Paul Waggoner. "Their commitment to heavy music over the years is inspiring and we look forward to becoming a part of the ever-growing legacy of the label. Our new release, titled "The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues" will hit the streets in April. We are confident that our dedicated fans will appreciate it and hopeful that we will gain the attention of some new ears as well. In closing, I'd like to reference a quote from the illustrious Joe Dirt: "Life's a garden, dig it."

Further details on The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues will be made available soon. The LP will contain the first new music from BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME since the release of 2009's The Great Misdirect, which landed at #36 on the Billboard Top 200 in its first week of release. BTBAM supported the album with a full scale North American headlining tour and live dates across Europe, Australia and Japan as well as a U.S. tour as hand-picked support for like-minded rockers Mastodon."

I don't think our recordings sound very good quality wise. Hopefully we have some videos that will be coming up sometime soon. Those two are also like the first two songs we finished 100% our newer stuff is a little bit heavier and mostly more traditional stoner/doom. If my other band can find a decent drummer we should be playing some shows soon as well.

The Born Of Osiris CD is EPIC! They'll be in Greensboro on Sunday 02/27 with Darkest Hour, The Human Abstract and As Blood Runs Black. Still debating whether or not to go... As I Lay Dying, Winds of Plague and After The Burial are in Raleigh the same night.

i need to remember to check out AstralAdvent's stuff when I get home.

Also, I think CTA might try and do one more EP. What Brady and I have in mind would be very different though than the LP or the EP we put out before. We both kind of burned ourselves out on writing metal for awhile after the last record for some reason. I think what we have in mind would be pretty awesome if it came to fruition though; we're hoping to collaborate with an old friend of ours who recorded our old demos and the self-released album in the early years. He's gone on to do some really cool projects solo and with bands and his voice would work great with the stuff Brady and I have been messing with. We'll see though. It will take awhile either way for us to write and record it as usual with everyone's schedules.
