Wouldn't it have been encased in concrete before the Swan was built?
Didn't Faraday ask Alpert in 1954 if they had concrete? 4/23/2009 3:50:24 PM |
Big Business Suspended 9099 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah, but that doesn't mean that richard buried it in 1954.
idk they didn't really seem like they had the means to bury a nuclear warhead in 1954 considering they were living in tents they acquired recently from someone else. I mean the concrete wall there took some serious machinery to build

it also depends on when the dharma people got on the island. if it's late 60's/early 70's, i think it's safe to say that part of their agreement is the others won't bother dharma if they bury the nuke, although they would have gone a long time without burying it (20 years after faraday said to). 4/23/2009 4:17:45 PM |

Quote : | " 'Lost' actor and ABC face sex harassment claim
LOS ANGELES A woman who claims she was sexually harassed then fired from the TV show "Lost" is suing ABC and actor Henry Ian Cusick.
The lawsuit filed Friday in Los Angeles alleges that Cusick, who plays Desmond Hume on the show, fondled the woman's buttocks and breasts and kissed her on the lips in October 2007. The lawsuit claims she reported the incident to her supervisor, but was simply told to avoid the actor. She states she was fired 12 days later in retaliation for reporting the alleged abuse.
The filing says the woman had worked for ABC since 1997.
The lawsuit does not specify how much she is seeking. Messages left for an ABC spokesman and Cusick's manager were not immediately returned." |

^^ If you go to the ABC website, they have a timeline that helps put the flashes and their periods in perspective - the flash where they were paddling and being chased was in "current" time - post Ajira Air crash.
My guess is that the "Shadow of the Statue" people were the ones shooting at them.
Also, BB, problem with your Timeline:
Quote : | "Let me give you a Ben Vs the Swan timeline.
1950s Ben was not born 1960s Ben was born 1970s Ben was a kid, he was shot and 'became' an other. Meanwhile the swan was being built in complete secrecy. 19somethindies Swan is finished Radzinky & Kelvin live there in complete isolation. At somepoint Radzinky dies. 1990s DI is purged. Kelvin continues to live at the swan in isolation. 2000s Desmond shipwrecks, losties show up find the hatch. Blah blah blah, Ben is kept prisoner in the swan." |
Kelvin was in the US Army, and served in the first Gulf War.
My guess is that Kelvin was a member of the "Shadow of the Statue" group and came to the island & killed Radzinski and fabricated the story about living in isolation with him

WTF, I was annoyed before when they made such a big deal of the oceanic 6 returning to the island because "It was their destiny" and "They had to save everyone they left behind" without explaining why or how.

he just said that they weren't meant to come back to the past, not necessarily that they weren't meant to come back to the island in general

any chance widmore is also faraday's father, thought randomly hit me when the younger Eloise (while daniel was playing the piano) kinda looked like Penny 4/29/2009 9:25:42 PM |
agentlion All American 13936 Posts user info edit post |
that was one of the main theories when we first saw Charles and Eloise on the island in 1955. I think it's been shown there are probably several reasons that's not true since then. 4/29/2009 9:29:14 PM |
wilso All American 14657 Posts user info edit post |
yeah, i definitely think faraday is widmore's son, which would make faraday and penny half-siblings. it would nicely parallel how jack and claire are half-siblings. 4/29/2009 9:41:26 PM |

yes. that is correct. desmond left the hatch to follow the CIA dude that joined dharma. he found that CIA dude had been restoring his sailboat, accidentally killed him in a struggle, ran back to the hatch but was too late, failed to push the button, and the magnetic energy pulled the plane out of the sky, k? 4/29/2009 9:58:18 PM |

You know, maybe this is what I get for building this show up in my head so much, but I was really disappointed with this episode. We really didn't learn much of anything, and nothing at all happened. 4/29/2009 10:03:56 PM |
wilso All American 14657 Posts user info edit post |
wow, eloise is cold.
i hope this isn't the last we see of daniel, at least in "present" time. they never really explained or even hinted at his memory problem, or the writings in his journal ("desmond hume will be my constant").
^^i'm gonna have to disagree; we learned quite a bit about faraday and the relationship between widmore and eloise. my only gripe is this episode didn't raise very many questions.

El Nachó special helper 16370 Posts user info edit post |
I mean I didn't hate it. But it wasn't nearly as good as I was expecting (which is probably half the problem, I had high expectations). But really, what did we learn? Nothing at all except for Daniel was Widmore's kid, which most people halfway expected anyway. Aside from that, there really wasn't a lot to take from this episode. It didn't advance the plot at all.] 4/29/2009 10:12:40 PM |
