The NFL as a whole is pretty unpredictable at this point. I feel like every star is capable of shitting the bed and every scrub is capable of of monster points. There are no real 'must start every week' type players this year unlike years past. 10/5/2010 10:45:53 AM |

Bullshit.
There are still 25-30 guys that you're going to start every week, matchups be damned
Rodgers Brees Peyton Brady Rivers Schaub
Foster Rice Turner Gore Peterson Johnson Jackson Mendenhall MJD
Johnson Wayne Moss Austin Marshall
Gates Clark Finely
and I'm probably forgetting ten other guys 10/5/2010 10:50:37 AM |

You're giving up two rock solid starters for a guy that appears to be in a timeshare with Toblert and Sproles and another guy who will be fighting for targets with Nicks and Smith all season

Greg Jennings is not getting targets (although he gets garbage TDs) Ryan Matthews was hurt and Tolbert came in, Sproles isnt even a factor in their offense and:
Quote : | "The Chargers admit that they eased Mathews back into action slowly in his Week 4 return from injury that consisted of only nine carries of mostly mop-up work, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Bolts got off to a big lead in this game, and Mike Tolbert ran the ball extremely well, netting 80 yards rushing by half time. The fact is that there was no need to rush Mathews back into action in this game, but he is still the guy that San Diego wants to feature going forward. " |
Not to mention that Brown's future opponents are GB, PIT, BAL, CIN, TEN, NYJ, CHI, BUF, DET, CLE
Most of those should be shit games for Brown (if he even stays healthy)
Matthews gets OAK, STL, NE, TEN, HOU, DEN, IND, KC, SF, and CIN

The Falcons are going to limit Turner's carries

^^^I do not like that trade either... both backs are split carry backs, but ronnie is the head architect of the wildcat, and Tolbert is the goalline guy in SD, so I think you'd be giving up a better guy for a lesser guy. And while Jennings isn't a clear #1 receiver (nor is Manningham), he has a better qb throwing to him and will get him more looks than manningham IMO
I think that trade is a slight downgrade in both positions for you, so unless that extremely helps you in bye-week troubles, then I wouldn't even consider it (and I didn't bother to check byeweek stuff on that btw)

i need to pick up a RB that will do something.. probably won't start but a game or two with byes, but i'd like to have a decent backup just in case. I have Cadillac on the bench, but it looks like he's going to split carries more.
highest rated available:
Michael Bush Sproles Snelling Fred Jackson McCluster.. Woodhead isn't rated that high but if he keeps getting carries and catches, he looked good last night..
or just wait for injuries and hope i'm the closest to the computer

^^what he said... McFadden says he feels good, and that this hammy thing isn't as bad as the one he had in the preseason, but I think at the very least, he'll take it easy this week
I also find it hard to believe that Woodhead will keep up his production, but hey... NE has found stars out of nothing before. Also, Turner will continue to only get 1/2 of the carries (at best) so snelling might not be a terrible option- just look at matchups when you have the bye weeks that you would play these guys
^rice has been a little disappointing, but he will come into his own. And Brown and Ellis are decent enough. I just don't like the situation in SD right now. I decided to keep Tolbert over picking up Matthews just because of the goal line carry stuff

Peyton Hillis, Cle RB FOR Matt Forte, Chi RB Steve Smith, Car WR
I'm leaning towards no, considering how poorly Forte & Smith have played the last 2 weeks and Hillis is averaging 15pts/week and hasn't dropped below 10 points.
My other RB's are: Steven Jackson Ryan Matthews John Kuhn Knowshon Moreno (Questionable)

Dolphins are on a bye this week, so Brandon Marshall's spot is open...
So, who would be your pick out of these guys: So here are my WRs...which 3 would you pick (1 for the RB/WR because Portis is probably not going to play next week). Calvin Johnson (lock to start), Kevin Walter, Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham, Dez Bryant, Devery Henderson...I'm thinking Johnson, Nicks, and Walter. Or I could pick up a RB for the RB/WR spot. Snelling is available and so is Ryan Torain (maybe a good pick up since Portis is apparently out). Would either of those guys be worth picking up?
Also, in my other league would you put Beanie, Hightower, or Felix Jones at RB...I would think Beanie, but neither he nor Hightower did much on Sunday

strange move, I thought for sure Lynch would go to Philly or Green Bay. The Seattle RB situation is getting more muddled by the day. Justin forsett has been getting the majority of the carries, his value will definitely take a hit, but I wonder how much. I'm guessing Lynch will be the starter and Forsett will be the change of pace and 3rd down back. Who knows where Leon Washington or Julius Jones fit in. This move is a real head-scratcher for me

Spin: This report is somewhat surprising considering that the initial thought was that McCoy would be able to play against the 49ers on Sunday, so we'll wait for official word from the Eagles before jumping to conclusions. Mike Bell would most likely start if McCoy was out, but Eldra Buckley could see a fair share of the touches as well." |

there are 8 teams
the question was, who would you rather have for the rest of the season. I'll take your answer as a vote for Forte. He has 134 rushing (0 TDs) and 209 receiving yards (3 TDs)
I have the same situation in another (10-team) league, except I have Shonn Greene that I'm willing to drop. With the following available:
Michael Bush, CJ Spiller, Felix Jones, Mike Bell, Ryan Torain, Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch
^yeah Jackson is the #1 with Spiller set to get an upgrade in carries as well

I'd say yes. Hernandez is good, and probably going to be real good in a year or two, but he's not elite, and you can most likely find a good enough replacement. Welker would be a step up over TO, so if you can get somebody to take it I think you'd come out better 10/5/2010 3:47:35 PM |

So I currently have both Felix Jones and Cadillac Williams on my bench.
Which, if either, is worth dropping for one of these available RBs: Michael Bush, Oak Marshawn Lynch, Buf Mike Bell, Phi
Bush is looking at a time share, but it's not a bad one. And Lynch will likely be the #1 RB in a pass-first offense fairly soon. The Cowboys running game has been terrible so far this season and it's a RB by committee and it sounds like Cadillac is going to get the bulk of the carries but soon also be in a RB by committee as well. Bell could be a decent play for a week or two, but the Eagles are not being very forth-coming with info about McCoy's injury.
Should I just hold onto those 2 guys or take a chance on one of the available guys? 10/5/2010 3:55:51 PM |

Quote : | "The Vikings and Patriots are apparently closing in on a deal that would send Randy Moss to Minnesota, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.
This is a shocking development. Moss has just nine catches in four games this season, but has still had value in taking coverage away from others, making it very surprising that a contending team like the Patriots would consider trading him, even considering that he's in the last year of his contract. The Vikings are rumored to be putting a third-round pick on the table, and they aren't going to finalize a deal unless Moss agrees on a contract extension, so we'll have to continue to monitor this situation. Moss would provide Favre and the Vikings a true No. 1 wideout that they've been missing due to Sidney Rice's hip injury. " |

Anyone ever had this happen in their league (scoring discrepancy): My opponent had the SD defense...they racked up 41 points for him and he won the game by .23 points. However, if I look at SD's stats from Sunday on his team's page, they are credited with giving up only 4 points...they really gave up 10. In our league's scoring this would be the difference of 4 fantasy points...in other words, I would have won if this was scored correctly. The commish has been notified (his was the team who benefitted from this, lol)...so ever happened to anyone before?
Eta: I didn't even catch this mistake...my brother, also in the league, caught it by chance.

those extra 6 points wont count because it wasnt their offense that scored...so it doesnt get counted against them. its actually a beneficial thing for defenses but sucks for you.
