yea, i know..thats why i'm still working my ass off and have taken over 3-4 peoples jobs who have been fired or laid off in the last couple of months. at this point there's no way they could replace me for what i make/do. so, i'm safe.. but the pay blows and the amount of bullshit just keeps skyrocketing

^^^^ however, I will say this. You are MUCH more marketable to companies when you already have a job. So it couldn't hurt to get your resume together and start doing a little fishing. The job I am about to take is nowhere near what I want to do, but it will be a nice "bandaid" for 6 months or so. It will allow me to collect a decent paycheck while I continue my job search.

my issue is i signed a 2 year non compete..basically 1 year of training and 1 year of work to pay them back. just says i can't use any contacts that i've made while at this job to get another job until jan of 2010. now, other ppl have had this agreement and done it anyways...the company has taken them to court over it and lost every single time. they lied to me and told me they won so to not try it..but i later found out they actually lost

so yea, i'll probably keep an eye out but not be in a rush or hurry.

Non-Competes in sales are pretty worthless right now to be honest. And typically, they are industry specific. You should have no problem with it as long as you move to a different industry. I have been challenged twice on non-competes and won both times. It all boils down to this: with unemployment rates the way they are, employers will have a very hard time trying to prevent someone for working.
