i need some dodge dually wheels. i have some ford/chevy style i think but they don't fit over the dodge hubs and also don't have the dowel pin hole. anyone know of anyone selling any/would trade for my wheels? 11/14/2008 8:41:35 PM |
dookiemaXXX All American 547 Posts user info edit post |
is the lug pattern right? you don't need the dowel pins, you can knock em out, they just help you line up the vavle stems correctly
if they are older ford or any chevy rims they will fit if center to center is 6.5"

BigBlueRam All American 16852 Posts user info edit post |
all gm/ford/dodge are 8x6.5 except for 99+ super dutys which have an odd metric pattern. i think it's some of the later model gm wheels that have the smaller center hole. if they're steel, just cut/grind out the centers yourself. that truck doesn't require wheels to be hub centric. if they're alloy, take them to hamiltons and have them machined. i had them do a set of 4 aluminum wheels for me a couple of years ago and they only charged like $50. i doubt having 6 would be much more, the bulk of the cost is in setting the machine up for the first wheel. 11/14/2008 9:53:08 PM |

they're only like 1/4" or so too small. same thing we ran into trying to put your old rims on the dodge whenever we swapped tires last year ivan 11/14/2008 9:54:58 PM |
dookiemaXXX All American 547 Posts user info edit post |
that sucks, if you had gotten them earlier i coulda turned them for ya
if you can find a hole saw the right size, you can make a template out of 1/4" plate, that bolts to the lug holes over the center, with a 1/4" hole in the dead center for the pilot bit, and go at it with a drill 11/14/2008 9:58:19 PM |

^^ah. yeah, if they're steel just grind those bitches out. works just fine. or, you could use a holesaw like ^ said. i've got ones that big if you need one. 11/14/2008 10:02:12 PM |

Wheels that actually fit would be most practical. 11/14/2008 11:24:53 PM |
BigBlueRam All American 16852 Posts user info edit post |
what kind of holesaws are you using, ones for wood? a decent bimetal will take all of 30 minutes to cut all of them out. most steel rims are only like 3/16 or something. it'll take longer to make a guide/template than do the actual cutting. or, just use a drill press and you don't even need that. mine might be big enough to do them on.
it's not rocket science and the truck isn't taking home any best in shows. unless they're alloy it's silly to mess with finding replacements or spending money on professional machine work. a damn 4.5" angle grinder will do the job, or you can do it "right" with a holesaw. case in point, i had to grind these wheels to fit... i think i might have spent 5 minutes per wheel.

after i get my new car, my mom's gonna have two cars to try and get rid of. my stepdad is convinced we'll get more money from a junk yard than trying to trade them in at a dealer. before we haul them to the junk yard, i thought i would give you guys first dibs
first car: 1997 Nissan Sentra ~180k miles
the good: - new catalytic converter about 2 yrs ago (~$900) - new starter around the same time - air conditioner works great - 6-disc cd changer in dash - i usually get ~ 30mpg - this car has never left me stranded, i've had it about 4.5 yrs
the bad: - check engine light is on... again (the guy we bought it from was sketch and cut the wire to the check engine light so we wouldn't know it was supposed to be on when we bought it... at least now we know it works ) - it's leaking oil from every orifice (quoted directly from my mechanic) - the airbag light is blinking and no one can figure out why or what it means
second car: 2002 Honda Civic ~80k miles
the good: - recently had a body work to fix where my sister's bf hit a couple trees and someone hit a "light pole" (in other words, no exterior body damage) - brand new computer - brand new tires - brand new oil change - brand new air filter - brand new alternator belt - brand new tire rotation - wheel alignment ~4 mos ago
the bad: - the car was totaled, then salvaged, and someone convinced my sister to buy it - i'm pretty sure the transmission will need to be rebuilt soon (has hesitation between gears) - we had some problem where the bolts holding the alternator to the engine would just fall out.. (my sister had her friends do some work on it so that would explain a lot) anyway, it's caused the belt to come off the alternator TWICE and left me stranded once on I-40 (luckily near raleigh) and once in Charlotte. This was after it was fixed the first time... so, total the problem with the alternator was "fixed" three times. the third time it went to the honda dealership where we're pretty sure they used some kind of glue or epoxy to hold the bolts in and that's when the computer blew or whatever, and that's why the car has a new computer. - my sister's ex-bf got pissed and pour pancake syrup all over the interior of the car. she never had it professionally cleaned. i've had the entire interior shampooed three times and it's still a little sticky in places.
i've had the car about 4 or 5 months and we've dropped probably a couple grand on it, i'm just tired of dealing with it and so are my folks...

Slightly used power comander. Used for about 6 months. not sure if it will work on the 08 09 or not.
$220
can install and load map for an extra $60.
Checked dynojets website and they are listing a different model number for the 08. So looks like it only fits the 06 07

two brand new racing seats. yonaka is the brand in their samurai style. they're made in japan i believe, not a cheap chinese rip off. they are REAL leather, not synthetic crap. the only reason i'm selling them is they're a little too wide for my c5 by about an inch. as far as seats go, they're pretty narrow it's just that c5's uses REALLY narrow seats. i thought these would work well, but the recliner knob rubs just a little since i need them slid all the way back. they come with universal sliders also. just fab your own brackets, or order custom fit ones from corbeu and they bolt right in.
they're like new. i've only put the driver one in for fitment purposes. passenger is still in plastic. i'll let them go for $500 FIRM otherwise i'll just keep them for some other random project. for reference, i'm 6'1" 185lbs. and they fit me perfect. oh, and they weigh about 38lbs. WITH sliders.
