Honestly, it's likely that he ends up at GT. However, I believe us to be his second choice.

that article says absolutely nothing. AJC has been putting out an article each day just so they could talk about how Ga Tech and Georgia are his favorites.

Yeah I mentioned about how it seemed the AJC is really hoping Favors goes to GT or UGA, and doesn't seem to talk about the other schools that he is considering very much. They are really pushing the thought that GT and UGA are his favorites, and that's why I don't pay much attention to those people on the message boards that are from Georgia that think State has no shot at Favors. Just look at the wording here in this excerpt:

Quote :
"He took official visits to Georgia Tech and Georgia, which have always been believed to be his favorites, and a recruiting trip to North Carolina State."

Why the hell would they call his official visit to State a "recruiting visit". It's pretty obvious that the people in Atlanta are afraid that Sidney will land Favors just like he's landed Hickson, Brown, Howell, and Harrow fromthe ATL area.

I thought that wall still needed work on his shot... why would Coach K offer a guard that couldn't shoot the three.

Maybe it's just me but if Wall visits and meets the player i just don't think he'll fit in very well.

it came from the premie board on rivals. duke apparently has been wishy washy over the past several months and none of the super users on PP or anywhere else are putting much stock into it.

The Devils Den had some really good quotes from Favors that i have not read / seen. Said that once Favors went to the RBC center and found out that 99% of our games are played there "he fell in love" and said that NCSU "felt like home". Said that the location of NCSU was great and close to home.

keep the hope guys

from everything that has been reported on both of these two i feel you can pretty much take Kentucky out of the scenario.

Memphis is the only other school that is recruiting both of them other than us IIRC.

We really impressed both of them during their OVs and Wall has been on and around campus a hell of a lot recently which is a great sign.

It really would have been nice to see Gaddy end up at Memphis ... that would have really helped US out tremendously.

we currently have 12 scholarship players if you count simon harris. you are allowed 13.

we're definitely losing fells, mccauley, harris

we're potentially losing costner, thomas... whoever else is suspect to transfer.

plus we have an open spot anyway.

so that's anywhere from four to six open scholarships, not including any tranfers, although i don't think we'll see any transfers.

we have three commits.

[Edited on October 29, 2008 at 1:31 PM. Reason : so either costner goes pro, thomas is declared unable to play, or someone transfers.]

You know what's sad about this picture that stoncuttr posted? This is probably the best picture I've seen of Stegeman Coliseum. It hides the fact that it's 3/4 of an arena. That place is more known for gymnastics than for basketball.

The Dawgs do have a new training facility opening up though that is adjacent to the coliseum.

Duke will be looking at and evaluating Wall much more heavily now and potentially offering him in the next couple of months. This is confirmed.

Kenny Boynton was Duke's top target for '09 but he is, from good sources, announcing for Florida tonight on ESPNU. If this happens Duke has one more ship and is going to be in need of a guard b/c all they will likely have is smith, scheyer, and elliot williams for 09. K had been wishy washy on Wall for whatever reason but had stayed in touch somewhat but didn't have a ship for him if Boynton committed. Now that Boynton is presumably out of the picture Duke may lean more heavily toward Wall.

This is from a VERY VERY reliable source.

This does not mean that Duke is officially offering him. Duke is going to further evaluate and have more contact with Wall because he is not announcing until the spring. Duke has time with him.

Don't know if he wants to go to Duke but it hurts us from the staying close to home angle b/c mom is sick for sure.

^ if I was John Wall, I would tell Duke to go fuck itself. A guy as good as Wall should consider it an insult if Duke is only now recruiting him hard because their #1 guy signed elsewhere.

^true, but we don't always know what is going on behind the scenes. duke may have told wall they had to honor all of the scholarships they had already offered but if just one of those guys went elsewhere then he would get an offer.

still is a slight probably, but not as cut and dry as it may seem.

this scares me btw only because for the first time maybe ever under K Duke will have tons of front court depth and no guard depth to speak of with only those 3 guys (smith, scheyer, and williams). if wall is a one and done duke offers national tv every game and prob. a ton of pt.

Well, I said barely get drafted. Lol. It's not like any of 'em are burning it up anyway. Boozer and Battier are about the best they have to offer. Of course I probably am forgetting someone. If there's one thing I follow less than the NBA, it's Duke players in the NBA.

yeah, as much as i hate duke, at least they send people to the NBA who can hold an interview without sounding like they are making a rap video.

^^ also, despite playing for the clippers for so long, corey maggette does pretty well.
