So what happened when the defense cross examined the cop?

Did any of you see the bug guy testify? The people on websleuths are acting as if it was a huge hit by the prosecution by showing that the body was dumped before 6am. But they are really biased and have shown before to understand things in ways to only support their feelings. What really happened?

didn't really seem like they got anything substantial out of the entomologist's testimony. but then again i only caught like the last 10 minutes of it.

The stay at home moms on Websleuths are really really predictable, it's almost comical to listen to their commentary

concerning the cross on the cop...

Quote :
"On cross-examination Monday, Cooper's attorney Howard Kurtz asked Hazelnet why what he saw was wasn't recorded.

"You do not take that opportunity to photograph what you've characterized as hay on the carpet?" Kurtz asked.

"No, sir."

And Hazelnet admitted he didn't tell detectives about it.

"You don't collect it as potential evidence in the case?" asked Kurtz.

"No, sir. I did not," said Hazelnet.

And, Hazelnet said he revised his case notes a year and a half later to mention the straw even though he couldn't see it in any of the pictures taken at the Cooper home.

He also said detectives who had been walking around at the crime scene earlier in the day had also visited the Cooper home that morning.

"They were not, at that point, wearing any kind of protective shoe covering, were they?" asked Kurtz. "No, sir," Hazelnet replied."

concerning the entomologist...from what i interpreted his analysis showed that the time of death ranged form the day before she went missing (the day of the party) to 1:00AM the day she went missing. so she either died before she went to the party or 30 mins after she left. seems to be inconclusive.

The entomologist had nothing to add that was of any benefit to either side.

still no physical evidence although WRAL would make you think that...they tweeted the exact opposite of what was said by the soil scientist.

Damn. To be fair, they didn't have the warran, I dont think he could have collected the hay... but he certainly could have pointed it out to another officer when the warrant team arrived...

I am really, really beginning to hate WRAL. Their style of sensationalist reporting is despicable.

Defense just destroyed the prosecution's questions.

Eggs could have been laid anytime between 6am and 11am, even perhaps as late as noon on the 12th of July.

Uh oh, here comes the sob story. Been on the stand for 5 minutes, already sniffling.

edit: Don't mean for that to sound bad -- it must suck being in her position of having her twin murdered.

But the cynical part of me is wondering if she's bumping up the emotion a bit for the jury.

I'm sure she's been coached by the prosecution to be emotional. That's what prosecutors told my grandmother to do when she was testifying against the idiots that killed my step-grandfather.

I'm betting she was never actually removed from them.

Hard to remove someone from a bank account if they aren't physically present, correct?

Not that I know of.

Well I'm not sure how personal accounts work, but with business accounts you can subtract people without them being there.

Ill give that cooper sounds like a douche, not paying fpr kids bday party, shit like that... just being tight... but what's the big picture? What did she blow ,one on that he didt trust her? Maybe he really was just a douche... its obvious the marriage needed to end, but I fail to see how this makes him guilty... he's just being portrayrd as controlling... not violent...

^I know right

Her sister talked about how Brad didn't want Nan spending money, then her next sentence spoke about how they went to high rock and then hilton head.

Now High Rock could be a pretty cheap weekend trip, but Hilton Head would cost some $$ yes?

Sure:

1: Cop on stand first, seemed disorganized. Allegedly saw a piece of hay in the house on the 15th (or 16th?), but didn't take a photo, tell anyone, sketch it, blah blah blah. No real info there.

2: Very perky/chipper geologist on the stand -- a bit biased towards prosecution, defense destroyed her testimony.

3: Etymologist on stand, results were inconclusive due to lack of surviving maggots. Body could have had flies on it anytime between 6am-11am or possibly even noon on July 12th.

4: Twin sister is on the stand, pouting and putting out a sob story.

This is horrible to listen to...not because of the crying, but because I think it's all BS.

Actually, you are very incorrect. If Brad was the owner of the account, he could remove her without her signing a thing.

I did this on the joint account me and my ex had. I discovered her doing some shady shit with the money, so I went to the bank and removed her from the account, effective immediately. (I was also the owner of the account).

^ Thanks for the info.

Done with testimony for today. Can't wait to see the defense tear this to shreds on cross-examination (like they've done with everything else) tomorrow.
