the drama in 328 was when i turned around and went ballistic on a racist fuck who wouldn't shut up about weekes
he had his season tickets switched to the other side of the arena a week later 12/28/2008 2:52:17 PM |

Very brief summary:
Guy sits directly behind me (I am row J seat 10). This is the second or third game he has been there; before I brushed it off as a single game ticket purchase, but he (and what I presume to be his wife) must have a 12 game pack or something.
Yells at the team for the entire game without stopping for even a single second (one of those kinds of people who is incapable of sitting quiet). Everything he yells about demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge of how the game is played (he's also one of those people who screams "SHOOOOOT" the entire powerplay). You would also think the team is the worst in the league by the way he dogs on every player, until of course the team scores a goal when he suddenly becomes their biggest fan.
Good job Cully Good job Whitney COME ON PITKANEN WHAT KIND OF A CALL WAS THAT? I really like when the puck goes to the point, especially the center point on an umbrella, and there's three guys in the lane and people are yelling "SHOOOOOOT" just because there's ten feet of open space directly in front of the puck. 12/28/2008 3:07:03 PM |

All of the most annoying game experiences I have ever had have been in 328. Next year I'm either going to have to move out of the section or hope a seat opens up down in the lower rows. 12/28/2008 3:17:41 PM |

i haven't had any awful experiences in row G, but to be honest i think i've only spent one entire game there since seats in B/C/D/E always open up 12/28/2008 3:20:30 PM |

Well I guess I cursed him by getting that game 7 puck he signed for Christmas...
This is kind of upsetting to me. I would have been okay with him being traded and us getting some value, but not this. I guess Mo's enthusiasm for Babchuk should have been the writing on the wall for someone, and it's no surprise that it's Frank given his contract. 12/29/2008 1:35:37 PM |

Because he's big (6-5, 212 pounds), young (24), has a bomb of a shot, and was a first round pick (21st overall) who still has great potential. 12/29/2008 1:49:24 PM |

We couldn't even get a bag of pucks for Kaberle? I for one wont miss him too much. He has been a disappointment for two plus years and this sends a message to the rest of the team that they need to step it up. Hopefully Babchuk plays out of his mind now that he'll get more minutes. 12/29/2008 4:59:30 PM |

Kaberle since coming back from his injury was not the same as he was at the beginning of the year. I wish him the best wherever he goes as he did score the winning goal in Game 7 (which I cheered loudly for from 314). I think this gives more of a chance for the young guys to step in and hopefully contribute right away (Carson I think in particular since he did pretty well). It'll be interesting moving forward, hopefully this is a cap clearing move so that we can make a splash, but who knows. Time will tell, but Kaberle hasn't been the same since 05-06 and was near getting back to it before breaking his ankle.
Can't wait to leave NY for the holidays and get back in time for the St. Louis game, especially since they'll be sans-Kariya, woot.
Oh and Boychuk has already scored for Team Canada, woot. 12/29/2008 8:38:59 PM |

Still waiting on anything that counters the fact he has been one of our biggest defensive liabilities all season, unless I just happen to only pay attention when he's constantly turning the puck over in both the defensive and neutral zones with half ass attempts at clears/passes that lead to oddman rushes and easy goals.
And that goal from the blue line? Congrats, he had an entire half of the net open to unload on.
For being so big (isn't average ~6'1 205lbs anyway??), he certainly plays small. 12/29/2008 9:07:49 PM |

^are you talking about Babchuk or Kaberle being that size? B/c Kaberle is 6'1", but sub 200 lbs.
and for having half the net open on Babs' shot?? not so much. 12/29/2008 9:30:12 PM |

So last night was my first time going to a game in the Lexus VIP section. Everything was awesome, the free all you can eat buffet, leather seats and great view. But it would have been nice if the people around me gave a damn for the game. This is the month to watch I think to find out if this is really a playoff team. Mo says the team did good things in December, but didn't get some of the results they should have, and had a tough schedule. I happen to agree with him, but we'll see how true that is this month, because most of the opponents are teams on paper that we should beat. If we want to have a good year we have to beat the teams we should beat (which we did the last 2 games against Atlanta), then just give it our best against the great teams and hope to win a few.
This month's schedule:
Fri Jan 2, 2009 vs. St. Louis Sat Jan 3, 2009 at Tampa Bay Tue Jan 6, 2009 vs. New Jersey Thu Jan 8, 2009 at Florida Sat Jan 10, 2009 at Boston Tue Jan 13, 2009 at Ottawa Thu Jan 15, 2009 vs. Toronto Sat Jan 17, 2009 at Buffalo Mon Jan 19, 2009 at Toronto Tue Jan 20, 2009 at Pittsburgh Tue Jan 27, 2009 at NY Rangers Thu Jan 29, 2009 vs. Tampa Bay Sat Jan 31, 2009 vs. Atlanta
Unfortunately, 8 of the 13 games are on the road, but I stand by my words. 9 of those 13 games we should be going into with the expectation of winning. 1/2/2009 8:47:49 AM |

I agree with you in that 9 of 13 are definitely win-able. It's a shame we couldn't get Pittsburgh this week since they've been playing pretty awful of late. Can't wait until tonight's game haven't been in town for a game since Bobblehead Night, so hopefully the 'Canes begin the New Year like they ended it with a W. 1/2/2009 2:59:15 PM |

Hooray Babchuk getting the winning goal. Great game, but I must say there were some annoying fans there tonight in section 314. People who believe they are "Know-it-alls" but really know nothing about hockey annoy me beyond belief. The one that got me the most was "Why is Staal wasting all of that time down there in the corner, we need another goal instead of keeping it in the corner". This was said with ~1 minute left, and I was thrilled with Staal's play in the corner and killing all the time he did.
I wish Maurice would play the Cullen line more, they were by far the best line (in my opinion) tonight. Cullen's play of late really makes me wish that he was on the power play as he has been winning more faceoffs of late than Brind'amour (whom I'd be glad was off the power play in place of Cullen).
By the way, does anyone know what happened to Eaves, I heard he had an upper body injury, but don't recall him disappearing. Hopefully Conboy will be brought up soon, but Brookbank it looks like will be traveling to Tampa for the game tomorrow now more than likely. 1/2/2009 10:12:25 PM |

Maybe 7 defensemen tomorrow since Wallin is supposedly going to be ready. Good win tonight; what else can you say about Ward? The man has been getting grief since the Cup run, but has been gradually improving, and seems to have finally become a true #1 goalie. (Now that I've said that he will probably give up 5 tomorrow night in Tampa)
Don't look now but Sergei Samsonov has 5 points in his last 2 games, and 21 points in 28 games after starting the season with 10 straight goose eggs. 1/2/2009 11:55:31 PM |

So I watched the game tonight at Red Hot and Blue and while I was there I remember my friend noting how hot she thought Corvo was...well, I got home and I looked at his wikipedia and lo and behold:
Quote : | "Restaurant incident
Corvo was arrested in November 2002 in Boston after he grabbed a 34-year-old woman's buttocks in a restaurant. Restaurant staff told him to leave, but Corvo returned, punched the woman and then kicked her when she fell to the ground, police said. Corvo was given a three-year suspended sentence after he pleaded guilty to assault. Corvo was also suspended for three games by the Kings.[3]" |
