ok so i last posted a picture 10 days ago so i guess i'll post another

i feel like, well obviously its only been 10 days of watching my calories (trying to stay around 1350 every day) and actually exercising hardcore (for me haha - not compared to others), that maybe my rolls are looking less rolly? or maybe its just in my mind. i mean i don't know when i'll start seeing actual results but hopefully soon. anyway i figured i'd post a pic since its been over a week.

def have not seen results on the scale. but its not about weight its about how i look so i realize the # isn't the goal here. i'm not posting a weight cause mine honestly fluctuates so much i don't know how much i fucking weigh. i know i posted 135 but after my run i weighed 139.6 but it was with my dad's scale instead of mine so i dunno - ours could be off. like maybe 139 on his = 135 on mine? i don't know. did NOT like it though.

ok so here i am on 6/10:

and here i am ton ~10 days later (not exactly shocking that nothing has changed - but hopefully soon! tried to take in the same position):

I'm assuming you hydrated yourself either before, during, or after your run? That seems like the logical thing to do...

If you want to find your most accurate weight, eat a light dinner, don't drink too many fluids before bed, sleep, wake up, go to the bathroom, and then weigh yourself. You weigh the lightest in the morning post-restroom.

thanks and yea a shitload of water so it was probably from that

i can't poop in the morning. some days i don't even poop at all. i've tried to be regular (this is so gross and TMI i know) but even with my diet changes and eating more fiber and protein and being more balanced (nutrition wise) i still am soooo irregular.

but i can pee. and i guess pee weighs something. but yea i get what you are saying and i think you are right.

So here we are one month later. I don't see too many changes visually (and admittedly I was pretty slack on the weights for about 14 days because I strained my shoulder, and given my history of shoulder issues I backed off), however I am about 4 pounds lighter than in the initial pictures.

I just want to get back under 200 lbs. pretty soon here. I was really worthless for the better part of 2 weeks because I hurt my shoulder (the good one this time, not the surgically repaired one). I also haven't been running like I should. Anyway, shoulder is better, got back on the bike again today, and diet has been better this week.

Oh, and thanks, khcadwal.

PS - It looks like your midsection is definitely trimmer.

Good job, everyone Keep at it and you'll definitely see results soon. You have to remember that you didn't get to where you are overnight and you won't get to where you want to be overnight. Definitely don't worry about what the scale says so much as how your clothes fit

today I got my cafe au lait at Cup-a-Joe and was good.. I didn't get a day-old muffin. Instead, I'm having yogurt on top of a whole wheat english muffin, topped with blueberries, blackberries, and peaches.. yummyyyy

oh and if any of you Raleigh ladies want to join me at hot yoga tonight, I'm going to the 7:30 class

I was planning on doing some cardio like the arch trainer but my lower back/leg muscles are killing me from squats yesterday... so I need something to loosen me up and still burn the cals

putting in yoga, looks like 503/hr is about right, so 90 min would be 755 calories

I actually lost a pound this week, even though I swear I look fatter in the mirror. Still got a long way to go and not much time to do it. Will post pictures of my flabby torso when I get home tonight. And of course today is the day someone brings in sausage biscuits. I can smell them right now

see, i would think that it'd be different than regular yoga... .given the fact that you're sweating your ass off (literally)

http://www.everydayhealth.com/Calories-Burned-Yoga.htm

Put in weight, select Bikram Yoga from pull-down menu, then select minutes in pull-down menu and put 90...

I burn 1,089 per session... that website that I posted is different than the original one I found but it tells me the same amount of calories so I'd imagine it's legit.

I don't think hot yoga burns much more than regular yoga.

Quote :
"it's unlikely that hot yoga burns more calories just because it may raise your heart rate higher. In reality, the huffing and puffing and heavy sweating found in many yoga rooms is due to the hot room, not the hot yoga. ...

Ever try standing outside in Houston in August? Ever try running in Florida in the summer? Not only do you sweat more when it's hot and humid, when you sweat, you dehydrate yourself. And the more dehydrated you are, the higher your heart rate goes. When you sit in a sauna your heart rate rises high, too, but it's not because you're burning more fat or calories. It's because your heart is working extra hard trying to cool you off. In fact, for some people, exercising in this type of environment isn't safe. And it certainly isn't a great way to lose weight.

While any movement is a good thing, especially for those not in good physical condition, these study results are not a resounding stamp of approval for using yoga to improve cardio fitness or to burn extra calories.

But some people are convinced that yoga is a good way to achieve weight loss. If so, it may be more from the mental self-discipline that the yoga philosophy instills, rather than the workout. Neither the calorie burn nor the intensity of yoga appears to be enough to make much of an impact on weight at all."

I don't know how much I agree with that article, because like one of the comments said, a lot of yoga isn't "sitting still"...

^^ I don't meant that yoga isn't a decent calorie burn, just that bikram isn't way more calories than regular yoga, even though it feels like it should be because you're sweating so much.

Shouldn't your caloric intake depend on your body weight?

At what point are you eating too few calories?

no, 1300 is what you should finish the day at

if you don't work out, 1300 is all you get

if you work out, say burn 1000 on a bike ride, you can eat 2300 for that day

thanks! ok yea i thought i noticed the rolls looking SLIGHTLY less rollier (i mean its only been 10 days of actually trying hard haha). its definitely motivational even though the scale is NOT, lol. i haven't done the measurements yet. i need to. maybe that will be my task today that way i can know for certain if i'm making a difference or just being crazy

also i'm pretty sure that at the bottom of my NEW picture (the lighting is so terrible) i can see that i'm starting to get a tinyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy teenie weenie tiny barely noticeable except to me bit of muscle definition in my thigh from running. so yay. and damn i can definitely FEEL my muscles now after running 6+ on sat. i'm still a little sore. it was soooooooooo hilly and i haven't been running on hills haha. this is the first time i've felt sore but in a good way not a bad way.

this weekend i'm doing 8+ with my dad and uncle (who ran track at duke in college - that was like back in the day but still he is WAY into running) at the outer banks. flat - yay! but i think my uncle is going to just kick our asses. i am personally a fan of the 12 minute pace lol and would like to keep it there

Don't worry about it.. some of the women ITT eat less calories than the average Holocaust victim. As long as you exercise (i.e. burn about 500 calories... 1 hour of exercising), eating 2000 calories isn't even that bad. Hell, you could still have a decent deficit if you ate 2500 calories (as long as you exercised).
