Man, the Pats are showing no sense of urgency. Easily wasting 4-5 seconds each snap.

Well, there goes my hope and dreams...

Brady....what a time to throw an interception...still can't believe that

Branch...gotta catch that 4th down pass - WTF

Defense...That drive you gave up in the 4th, WTH, you have to make a play.

Coaches...That 1st half and first part of the 3rd, very poor coaching other than first two drives. & What the hell with that Fake Punt...no need to call there-I see why you tried, but NOOOOO!!!

Crumpler...Time to retire, when you drop a TD pass wide open in the endzone in the playoffs, it is time to retire.

I'm sad... III

foot jobs for everyone!!!

observations
- Holmes is probably my most hated player in the league, but god, he steals souls with some clutch catches
- Brady outplayed by Sanchez at home and his 2nd straight mediocre playoff game, Pats haven't won a playoff game since the 2007 AFC championship
- lol @ bart scott running onto the field at the buzzer after getting injured late in the game.
- The NFL is great theater, the hype building up to this game was proof and it'll be there again for Pitt-NYJ

Maybe the patriots can draft a TE, LOL.

My new favorite sports writer
Quote :
"Tom Brady turns in third straight playoff disappointment

Posted by Michael David Smith on January 16, 2011, 8:00 PM EST

For a player with a reputation for being great in the clutch, Tom Brady sure has gone a long time without a good playoff game.

The New England Patriots’ stunning 28-21 loss to the New York Jets today makes Brady 0-3 in his last three games as a playoff starter. He hasn’t been on the winning side in the postseason in three years, and he hasn’t played well in defeat in any of the three losses since then.

The Patriots’ last three playoff losses — today against the Jets, last year against the Ravens and the Super Bowl against the Giants — haven’t been entirely Brady’s fault, by any stretch of the imagination. But they’ve certainly been partially Brady’s fault.

In those three playoff games, Brady has completed 81 of 135 passes for 719 yards, with five touchdowns and four interceptions. Terrible numbers? No. But don’t you want a future Hall of Famer, all-time great player to do better than 240 yards a game, with almost as many picks as touchdowns, in three straight losses?

And for all the talk that Brady is at his best when the chips are down, Brady turned in an ugly fourth quarter on Sunday against the Jets. Brady’s clock management was terrible: When the Patriots got the ball down 21-11 with 13 minutes to play, that should have been the time for Brady to show off his mastery of the hurry-up offense. Instead, Brady took his sweet old time, and the Patriots’ offense took almost eight minutes off the clock on a drive that ended on a fourth-down incomplete pass from Brady to Deion Branch.

Brady’s career is often measured against that of Peyton Manning: Part of the fun of being a sports fan is arguing about who the best is, and we want to state definitively which one of them is the best quarterback of his generation. Those who side with Manning cite his superior statistics, while those who pick Brady point out his better postseason record.

But if you think Brady is the best quarterback of this era because of what he’s done in the playoffs, then you have to grapple with the fact that what he’s done in the playoffs hasn’t been all that good lately.

No one can ever take away Tom Brady’s three Super Bowl rings, the regular-season MVP award he received following the 2007 season or the second MVP award he’ll surely receive in three weeks. But make no mistake: The Patriots’ three-game postseason losing streak means that Brady’s clutch reputation has been tarnished."

Brady has been shitting it up in the playoffs lately, but he has a long, LOONG way to go to catch up to Manning's level of ineptitude when it matters most.

Brady's legacy of being the best when it counts has lost a little luster. Manning? Well he' the king of playoff choke artists and the standard by which all other choke artists are judged by. He now owns 7 one-and-dones, and it's one of the defining stats on his resume.

But hes also lead some great comebacks in the playoffs... and Brady has the the title of THE biggest choke job ever vs. the Giants when he had the best team of all time vs a wildcard team

an once again, this is partly in jest as I think way too much credit/blame is given to the starting QB but since people pile on Manning then Brady deserves it too

Agreed, Brady has not been stellar by any means in the playoffs lately, but he has a way to go before he sustains terminal damage to his career.

After calming down, I wonder if the lack of a deep threat (a la Moss) hurt against Jets D in this game. Whatever the reason, they will have this fixed next year.

There were plenty of mistakes to go around for this year's team.

The epic loss to the Giants a couple years back - rides on the back of the Def.

^^ I dunno about that. It was plainly obvious from the jump in that Super Bowl that the Giant's defensive line had that New England offensive line outclassed severely. Brady was getting hit left and right in that game. The defensive could have played better, but the trenches is where that game was lost for the Pats.

I would say it wasnt ONLY on him, but it was at least somewhat on him...

Same thing with last year, Manning gave the defense a relatively big lead at halftime and they couldnt hold it, then at the end when they had to throw there was the INT. Partly to blame? of course... the sole reason they lost? no

WOOO! As a life long Jets fan this is one hell of a night! Got to love Payback and a one and done Brady! I hope he enjoyed the view on his back. Anyway as mentioned they are 0-3 in the last 3 playoff appearances and have no championships since spygate.

Give credit where credit is due. The Jets went up to New England and handled the Pats in their own house. They got it to a touchdown a couple of times, but it really wasn't even that close of a game.

The most shocking part is how badly Sanchez ended up outplaying Brady imo.

See, people talk shit about Sanchez all the time -- and don't get me wrong he is NOT a Top 10-ish QB yet... but guy has something about him and he can play. I firmly believe history will look back at him and he will have a better career than Eli Manning. He's got the "it" factor that a lot of QBs never have.

4-1 in the playoffs, all in road games and now outplaying Tom Brady and playing Peyton Manning to a draw. Future is very, very bright.

--- Steelers next week. Of course watching the game with a legion of Steelers fans that I know...
