This is legitimately not a troll post or an intentionally loaded question.

Why is the black community getting so riled up about this....are they suggesting it was race related and that this dude walking free is a slight against the black community or that a popular style of dress = criminal.

this killer wasn't a cop, he wasn't white, he was just some other minority dude....would they be this pissed if it was another black guy?

i'm not quite sure i understand the whole story enough to figure out who is crusading for what because it seems to have gone off the rails

That's correct, mostly.

What I mean by "passing for White," is that he can probably avoid the institutional racism that people get for looking like a minority, like being hassled by police.

Another good example would be a person of color who happens too have a very "White" accent. They probably wouldn't have as much difficulty succeeding in a phone interview compared to a person with an accent usually associated with African Americans, despite them having the same qualifications.

Another example would be hearing that your new roommate is named "Bruce" versus "Jamal," and how you would prejudge them before seeing them.

Not sure if this has been posted but another leak today had the investigator pushing for manslaughter charges because he didn't buy zimmermans story, but someone at the state level over ruled him.

at least no one was killed in the duke lacrosse case...

there is only one side in this case...

imagine if the cops had arrested zimmerman and he was put on trial, no one would even be talking about him or even cared what the outcome was. he could've been found not guilty and people would've accepted that a little easier. (not saying that i think he is not guilty)

Obviously his lawyer, or team of lawyers, doesn't want him to speak. To me, that tells me that he's not 100% innocent of everything. So obviously he isn't going to go on some major news station and give his side of the story. I don't blame the guy for hiding out. I would if I had all those people looking to murder me, guilty or not.

However,

If he isn't brought up on any charges, then who can force him to speak, and tell the truth, with some sort of penalty if he doesn't? In what arena/forum will all the stories from all the witnesses, girlfriends, cops, and other people involved get placed together to decide if anything really wrong occured?
