I forgot to post this yesterday, and may be old new by now, but I saw Coach Lutz at Player's Retreat yesterday afternoon (around 5:30) and I shook his hand, thanked him for his work at State and for staying with us, and wished him well for the season. I added, "I hope Zo makes a quick recovery" and Coach Lutz said that the surgery went very well and they only expect him out about a month. Said that there was nothing else affected, just a sprained meniscus.

Not really NC State news, but it's slow this time of year.

Richard Howell's former AAU team, World Wide Renegades, has been banned from playing in summer leagues for alleged ties to an agent. There are three other teams with ties to the same agent. The players themselves can still play, but they'd have to find/form a new team and distance themselves from their former clubs.

Look, sid was a pretty shady guy. From the affairs, lawsuits, kid, sketchy recruiting details, and overall desperation to win at the end of his career its certainly not a stretch.

We weren't even being mentioned for hickson and then landed him out of nowhere. A top recruit signs with a bottom feeder program that wasn't even in the mix? Nothing sketchy there!

Next we land Howell off the same AAU program that everyone in the nation says is dirty.

A few years later the AAU program is disbanded because they get caught for being dirty. Nothing sketchy there!

Did anyone mention in the middle of all that we won a bidding war for Cj Leslie and were close on favors and john wall (maybe one of the highest paid recruits of the decade?!)

What do you think it means when a player re opens his recruitment to consider Kentucky?

Do you honestly believe john wall wasn't offered any money by ncsu? How did we become a finalist against teams that are well known to pay up like Baylor and Kentucky?

How did we even get in the mix for these guys if we weren't doing the same thing other schools are doing?

you may very well be right about hickson's recruitment being shady, but you misrepresent history several times in your post. i swear, it's as if you don't even follow the team. kinda like skooiann talking about how we should play williams next year. cjl and wall weren't in the middle of hickson and howell recruitment, they were after. and as mentioned, we were in the mix for cjl and wall because they lived and played in wake county. i know you're just trolling, but come on man.

Chronicled may have been a poor word choice.

Where there's smoke there's usually fire and there was plenty of smoke around the hickson recruitment at the time. 5 years later it looks even shadier.
