Why would a girl view an IUD as a last resort?

last resort would be condoms Some doctors only want to put it in women who have already had children. It's less painful to insert and less likely to dislodge if you've had a baby.

I've heard that before; my non-OBGYN understanding is that it's an urban legend or outdated information.

no, no, no..... and yes

different strokes for different folks is all

my sister loves Coach and I don't

yes, some doctors... but not good ones

John Marks, MD in Raleigh (and he's just a GYN, not an OB... so you don't have to worry about him going to the hospital to deliver babies and such)

he's awesome and we talked about IUDs and sterilization the first time I saw him

Uh, no to all. I'd be content with just one pair of comfortable shoes and one well fitted comfortable bra.

And I love love love LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mirena IUD. I've mentioned before that I'm on my second one. I'm one of the women that stops menstruating with it *and* my fertility returned immediately after having the first one yoinked. I have nothing but excellent things to say about it.

I feel like everyone needs to know how awesome my new shoes are. They can get wet, so I can run in the sprinkler with the kids, and they make cool tan lines, and they are so fucking comfortable. I♥Chacos

I can't tolerate toe loops on sandals so I had to get Tevas. Found leather ones online and they are super comfy and not that bad looking.

Has anyone here used Moroccanoil? I got a bunch of free product this weekend and am almost overwhelmed as to how to use it. And I'm wondering if Moroccanoil is better than my keratin products, which have always satisfied.

Also, for anyone who is considering keratin, I HIGHLY recommend Keratin Complex.

If anyone is in Orlando around the time of the Premiere Hair Show next June, the companies always needs people for free treatments!

I need to look at the expiration dates... if it looks like some of this stuff will expire before I can use it all, then I'll host a teedub product giveaway.

So, has anyone used Moroccanoil? The girls in Orlando rave about it but I have no experience with it.

I've been using moroccan oil since I bleached my hair. It's pretty amazing stuff. My hair is super soft and smooth even though I bleached the ever living hell out of it. I haven't used any keratin products before so I don't know how it compares though.

edit: this is the bottle I bought at the salon

it also smells supermegaawesome

Thanks for sharing, DDK! Did the stylist recommend that? It's supposed to make your hair SUPER healthy and shiny (important when you go blonde). A lot of blondes lose the shine/luster from their hair, particularly if they're not naturally blonde.

yea she made me buy it. She gave me a discount just to make sure I took it home and used it as she was concerned about how much bleaching it went though. Its magical stuff. I only use like a dime sized amount maybe every other day. I also started using the shimmer lights shampoo that she recommended. Its definitely taking away the orangey-tint my hair still kinda had in some places where the red dye would not come all the way out.

definitely recommend both products for any fake blondes

edit: here's the shampoo

and don't be shocked, it's BRIGHT FUCKING PURPLE

I use Argan Oil daily. It's amazing. The first day I wore it, I received a million compliments on my hair. It's hard to get blonde hair to be as shiny as dark hair, but this stuff really does the trick. Moroccan oil works great as well although it's mostly silicones and fragrance instead of pure oil. My stylist puts it in my hair when she is finishing it off.

This is what I buy. It lasts for quite a while because a little goes a long way.

I also use: Sally Hershberger Hyper Hydration Heat Protect Hair Super Keratin Spray. I read about it in Harper's Bazaar and I love it!

DDK, the stylists this weekend kept talking about how the purple products are really good for blondes. For some reason, it brings out the golden tones. Not sure how, but it does.

The keratin BlondeShell line is made with lavender. It smells AMAZING!

Purple products do not bring out "golden tones." Purple products cut brassiness. If you're going for a white blonde, you'll use a purple toner to correct any brassiness that is left over.

I highly, highly recommend MoroccanOil Products. I first started using these two when I was living in Charleston, and nothing controlled my frizzy mop nearly as well - whether I was going straight or curly - in that humidity. I have switched to using just their curl control cream by itself - my hair gets oily very quickly on its own, and I just like using the cream as a balm (almost daily).

Ah! Thank you for clarifying, bottombaby. The stylist just said it would make the blonde stay beautiful much longer.

God, I love the packaging for Moroccanoil. Their branding is phenomenal... they stood out over most of the other companies at the show.

I was a platinum blonde for a long time and my mother was a cosmetologist. But correcting hair color is just like using cosmetics to conceal skin flaws. You use the color on the other side of the color wheel to disguise or cancel it out.

Why did you ditch the platinum? Too much maintenance? Seems like so much upkeep! And it's easy to compromise the health of your hair, it seems.

I'm a natural ash blonde. It wasn't difficult to go platinum and I was able to do it with less damage than most, but I just tired of it. My mother started lightening my hair in middle school and I continued with it on into college. No one even knew what my natural adult hair color might would be. I just got tired of looking fake and wanted to see what my natural color would be. Then I decided that my fair skin and blue eyes looked more dramatic with the darker hair.

HIGHLY recommend 'daddy-o' by Lush for blondes to get a nice shine. This is all I use in my hair, and my fiance noticed right away

also, just got my glasses today (they look better than the picture)

soooo ... I am going to Germany in July! Any advice on what shoes to wear? I always do a TON of walking, and I feel self conscious because only American tourists wear white athletic shoes

Any advice on classy looking, non-dowdy, and highly walkable shoes for my trip??

PS ... WANT!! but I'm worried I won't be able to fit my calf in them

this is my first foray into DIY craftiness...

i used cheap paper and an old as hell magazine holder in case it didn't work out so well..

i think i did pretty well though...

this means i'm going to buy some higher quality paper and some better magazine holders and make all new, pretty ones for my office as part of my redecorating effort...

i can do 25 magazine holders and a dozen storage boxes for around $75...

each individual pretty magazine holder i was looking at buying was about $18 so I figured this was a better way...

^^ No, those boots aren't for the trip. They're just for fun! And on sale because it's summer

I went ahead and bought the boots and another pair of Eccos for walking, so I'll see how I like them I'm soooo excited!!! I've been on a bit of an online shopping spree lately! I also bought an Amazon Kindle

One of the great things about eccos is that you can change out the insoles. Since I have high arches I'm pretty sure that's the only way to get comfy dressy shoes for me. I found my first pair at goodwill, and loved them so much I got the mary janes on ebay.

i wore seychelles black flats when i went to italy for a month. walked and wore them everyday. twas a great walking shoe with just enough style that i didn't feel super touristy. i even had a sales clerk start speaking to me in italian so we'll say it's because of the shoes although i think you might be looking for a different type.
