i remember a long time ago, b/c of how my health insurance policy was, i had to be referred to a specialist by my general practitioner or they wouldn't cover it.

then it just said in my records something like, "referred to endocrinologist" and i then found endo's that were covered by my health insurance. i wasn't referred to a particular person.
