i mean assistant attrition isn't good, but bad assistants are much worse.

At this point, I'd be less surprised by Amile announcing he's going to prep school, not because of any academic issues, but because he needs more time to decide.

I know fan are impatient in general, but seriously, I wonder what the hold up has been for the last 6+ months.

If Lutz & Moxley head to VT, it wouldn't surprise me if Gottfried hires Julius Randle's AAU coach or someone else close to him.

Could Amile be waiting on Anthony Bennett to decide if he is going to UK or not?

I thought it was kinda funny. Gotta add some humor to this ridiculously long decision time. I still want the kid, but this is getting a little annoying.

Yeah, simonn's I-hate-everyone responses are usually cute (like an old curmudgeon that's stuck in his ways), but he missed the mark on this one.

Anyone listening to Adam and Joe right now? Adam said that they had some very good news for NC State after the break but I had to go back to work.

Sorry, was about to head out from work when I posted that.

One of the Scout.com guys said on twitter that Marcus Lee picked up offers from Arkansas and State over the weekend.

I don't know much about him, but:

http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=5755743

3 star but his offer list is strong. Also, from the East Bay..

Why do people insist on thinking we have a shot at players within the ACC. No one is going to put up with the extra consequences.

a few julius randle quotes from PP:

Quote :
""Their playing style is exciting," he said. "Coach Gottfried can coach. He came in and did a major job with the team this year. They have great assistants, great facilities, and great fans. There's nothing I don't like about NC State.

"With coach Gottfried, he can coach. You know he can do a great job with his players."

Randle has already been on the Wolfpack's campus, as he took an unofficial visit in January.

"It was amazing," he said. "I couldn't say it was everything I expected because I didn't know what NC State was going to be like, but I liked it."

Another positive for NC State is Randle's relationship with Wolfpack 2012 signee Rodney Purvis. The duo have been friends for a couple of years, having played together on the AAU circuit since the ninth grade (Purvis was originally a member of the 2013 class).

"That's one of my best friends," Randle stated. "He's a really good person. He cares about me. Me and Rodney have become really close throughout the AAU season. We have a pretty good relationship.""

As long as they haven't enrolled there's a lot more leeway usually.

nobody's saying they don't have to be released. some are just saying there are often less stipulations to the release if they haven't actually enrolled. i don't know how much truth there is to that, though.

True, but they haven't been through a bunch of practices and learned all the tricks of the system so they are usually released with no conference restrictions

very much truth.

also i'm pretty sure the conference has a rule requiring transfers to sit an extra year if they go to another conference school. there is nothing of the sort for recruits.

Actually, it's the first condition mentioned:

Quote :
"Section VI-2. Intra-Conference Transfer Rule.

A student-athlete who transfers directly to an ACC institution from another ACC
institution and who was recruited by the institution from which they are transferring, for whom the athletics department interceded in the admissions process, or who received any
athletically related financial aid during the academic year immediately prior to the
transfer is required to complete one (1) academic year (two full semesters or three full
quarters) of residency at the certifying ACC institution before being eligible to compete
for or to receive athletically related financial aid from the certifying institution"

exactly. that's why you never see intra-conference transfers.

that has absolutely no bearing on recruits who have not enrolled in school, though.
