i was watching the holland vs. argentina game in a dutch bar in buenos aires this past week, and the environment was crazy. there were local news stations there to get the reaction from the crowd -- most of which were wearing both colors (light blue and also orange).

i saw the first half of the argentina vs. mexico game in a buenos aires pasta restaurant, then the second half in a friend-of-a-friend's flat... the people went absolutely crazy when argentina scored -- confetti in the streets, firecrackers, and they were broadcasting it everywhere -- huge roars could be heard all over, and the streets were completely empty.

i hadnt cared for the world cup before, but to see a whole nation unified behind kicking some ass on the field, i think i've become a fan!
