You underestimate the Greenville audience for Dan Deacon, not to mention Future Islands.

what? no i dont. I live in greenville.

I was just commenting on how small i thought backdoor was, but looked at some photos and saw otherwise. Last I was there like 7 years ago I thought it was tinyyyy, maybe I was in a different part of it..

I was watching Rush's 2004 R30 tour on Palladia the other night. I enjoyed it.

And Palladia broadcasts a number of good concerts. Recently, I've watched Jeff Beck and The Cure, among others.

i don't think he actually broke it, but he was messing with some sound thing and there was a
THUNDEROUS BASS sound and they were like WTF and stopped for a bit acting like shit was broken
and he was all "sorry!", but they were playing again in no time, maybe just a scare, UBER-RUN-ON-SENTENCE.

dan was awesome though.

we weren't in there for Lonnie Walker or Javelin since we were drinking in the parking lot and we had seen them the night before

we were going to have the afterparty at our friends house but he pussed out on having a bunch of people over

I just realized that Sam is pointing at the naked dude

I'll be there tonight, I'm just trying to figure out who is opening.

If it's White Rabbits, it may be the first time in my life I go see the opening band and completely leave before the 2nd act, LOL.

I couldn't care less about Fiery Furnaces, to be honest. Oh, and, I'm getting old and work comes early.

When I saw them open for of Montreal is was some odd concoction of completely nonsensical shit. Maybe that's their usual, I dunno.

So Fiery Furnaces and White Rabbits were pretty awesome.

Does anyone know what kind of guitar pedal the guitarist uses? seems like some kind of crazy delay or loop. I was watching him pretty much the whole time.

Dan Deacon/Nuclear Power Pants Oct. 1 at Cradle

I fucking love Nuclear Power Pants. The music I can take or leave, but the show is too bizarre not to love.

Went to Tir na nog last night for local band local beer with Free Electric State and A Rooster for the Masses. Not only does FES write songs that use similar structures/melodies as mbv but the sound density and fuzz on the guitars was nearly exactly the same as mbv's richmond show at times and I heard people around me commenting on how they were glad they brought earplugs. But enough comparisons, it was a great sounding night. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to stay for A Rooster for the Masses which I have never seen live and was curious about.

Tonight, probably checking out Caltrop at slim's...

from CNN:

Quote :
"Nine Inch Nails kicked off the second show of their farewell tour Sunday night with a milestone in the band’s 20-year history: a live performance of their 1994 album “The Downward Spiral” in its entirety and sequence which stunned the audience of 1,400 at Webster Hall. This is the first – and could possibly be the only – time they have done this."
