damn, i saw a series of pics of a backhoe putting itself up in a train car full of coal similar to that. the doors on the bottom wouldn't open so he put it up there and emptied the car out.

at the conexpo they have a "dancing digger" show which is just a bunch of tractors doing some acrobatic shit. it's pretty cool too.

yeah, after googling i found that it's pretty common. they actually modify the front bucket and stabilizers so it'll work better.

yeah. i remember talking with some guys from clayton (where they make backhoes) about it and they said they actually worked with the dealers/buyers to do it. that was when i had my cat job.

It is not a typical excavator that one would see in the US. It is actually a mining shovel. The bucket on that machine would be mounted facing away from the operator's cab.
