To be honest, any mid-major coach is going to be an unproven commodity as an ACC recruiter. And it's not like Anthony Grant left him with a loaded team...Eric Maynor is gone [and Larry Sanders] and their go-to guy is Jamie Skeen (he was at best a 4th or 5th option at Wake Forest, and was being moved to the bench before he started flunking out and transferred).

The only real reason I could see Barnes leaving is if the pressure of Texas fans for not living up to the hype is getting to him and he thinks there is a chance he will be pushed out.
