damn that was fun while it lasted...from being announced as an 11 seed a few weeks ago until now, this board has been awesome. it just sucks losing knowing we didn't play our best game. and seeing how unc played vs ohio, most of us agree that we'd have had a very good shot at beating them.

fuck...losing sucks...but being able to bitch about a state loss this late in the year is a very unfamiliar feeling.

I'm proud of the wolfpack. Who the hell in their right mind thought a year ago, when we were as shitty as we were, that we would EVER stand a chance against a team like Kansas?

We were definitely off our game tonight offensively. Less than 25% of our shots resulted in points in the 2nd half. But make no mistake; we did not lose this game because Kansas outplayed us. NCSU DOMINATED the second half strictly in defensive terms. They had to work for every point they got and we were all over rebounds.

Even though we lost, I don't think there's a soul out there who can argue that NCSU is not a legitimate threat anymore. This is only a taste of what is to come; anybody can see that with experience and time Gottfried is only going to make the Wolfpack better and take us farther.

That being said, I hope Kansas crushes the tarholes on Sunday. I can't stomach a third UNC championship win in the past 10 years.

The most frustrating thing to me about this loss is that Kansas kinda sucks. The only reason we lost to them is because they have a 7 footer, which completely erases Howell's offense. I was hoping if we lost that at least Kansas would look pretty legit and be able to beat a Marshall-less UNC. Right now I'd say that game is a toss up

I hope this offseason we eliminate the retarded high risk end of game plays. It worked once against St. Bonaventure and has fucked us every time since. Just let Brown throw up a 30 foot 3 on the run like every other good team in America does. Shit, if scoring at the buzzer once was all we needed to go off of then Zo should be shooting 90 footers at the end of every game

Great season for us. Blew a big opportunity though (F4, revenge?!?!), and those don't come around often. Please build on this over the next couple years.

The bigs did about as well as they could. Perimeter shooting is what really needs to improve. If Brown develops a better 3 point shot, he will be unstoppable.

Kansas looked like crap tonight, but they are very good. Their PG is going to kill Stillman White, and I won't be suprised if they press full court. They have the individual defenders to do so.

Kansas seems to be FSU defensively, positionally sound, with athletic tall defenders, but happen to have a POY offensive candidate and an enigmatic PG who seems to be lost. This game pretty much went the same way as the FSU game for the totality (obviously different starts to the game), but we played much better D, and it became a close ugly slugfest.

Two observations:

1. We lost 90% of the 50-50 calls out-of-bounds. I have watched a lot of basketball and I've never seen anything like it. If it happened at our end it was their ball, and then when it happened at their end it was their ball. Give us 1 or 2 of those, maybe it's a different game.

2. This game was a fantastic illustration of what will happen to CJL in the league if he doesn't develop anything more than post moves. Take it inside and get that shit shoved back down your throat by guys that are both taller and stronger. I hope he comes back.

Why is it that teams like Carolina, no matter how bad they are, have an innate ability topull out close games in the final seconds, but teams like us, ALWAYS choke in the final seconds. Hell, we were LUCKY, Georgetown didn't hit at the end the way we shot free throws and we straight up threw the ball out of bounds three times against UNC and Kansas.

yes i hate the full court pass we do at the end of games. i don't really mind it when there's 1 second or less left, because there's not much else you can do. but i feel like we could get a better look by doing something else.
