that's really disappointing that she's only going to come to the wedding if she can have a date...i mean i get the travelling alone thing, but no one other than bridal party is bringing a date if they're single. we can't let her and not let the others...and we definitely can't let everyone bring a date. numbers won't hold it, and budget definitely won't allow it.

aww i hear ya. when i added up our guests, i automatically took into account they'd bring a date (if said guest was single) and that helped me over-estimate the numbers as opposed to under-estimating and having to tell people to come alone. of course, doing it that way, we ended up with probably half family and half friends...if we'd told people not to bring a date then we probably could have had more friends, which would have resulted in more booze consumption, resulting in a higher bill....haha yeah i'm glad we factored in a guest for everyone.

oh, and also....i had 105ppl RSVP and maybe 85-90ppl actually came. be preprared for people not to come!

5^ oh we're prepared for no shows, but our reasoning for no guests is more of the capacity issue than budget (though budget does play a role of course). the chapel only holds 120 people and we're adding 12 chairs in the front to hold 132. there's no standing room, so we really have to be cautious about numbers. and we invited 182!

i was very nervous about this, but we've had enough no's and anticipate of the remainder that haven't RSVP'd yet (deadline is today) enough no's to be right at our target size assuming everyone does show. if we had been under enough to allow all of singles to bring dates, we would've done so. but there's 10 singles...10 is just too many...and i'm not going to play favorites and let one person bring a date but not another. that's just not fair IMO.
