and it's all about styling...those shoes look awful with that outfit, but I bet you'd think different if it was paired up correctly

^^What's wrong with a good pair of flats?
I think flats can be great. My wife wears heels a good bit to work but also wears flats. Outside of work or anything dressy she wears a lot of flats that I think look great on her. She dresses more "cute" though most of the time so it works.

Someone posted a haircut on here recently. It was medium length short blonde side view and I can't find it. It may have been another thread but I can't find it. LOL 8/7/2012 4:36:54 PM |

The one in my gallery was short/blond side view, but not medium length I wouldn't think. But it might be the one you're talking about. 8/7/2012 4:39:30 PM |

I have come so close to buying chalk to try that, but as I was staring it down in the store the last time, I decided it would probably be another one of those things that I try once at home and then never do again because I convince myself I don't have anywhere to wear it.
Didn't you recently mention guys would assume you were a lesbian because of your short hair? I imagine rainbow short hair doesn't really help that 8/7/2012 7:11:17 PM |

ladies, i need help with a thank you
a girlfriend of mine recently hosted a girls weekend for 11 of us at her parents vacation home in vermont. her parents were there & spent the whole time bbqing for us, driving us around on their boat, mixing drinks, cleaning up after us & giving those of us who flew in a ride to & from the airport.
it was a really great weekend & i really appreciated their generosity & hospitality. i want to send them something more than a thank you note. a thank you note is most obviously in order but feel like doing something a little more special for them.
the deal is that whatever i send may sit at the vacation home for a week or two before they get it as they live in montreal & aren't there all the time (hence, vacation) so flowers or something food related wouldn't be ideal.
any ideas? 8/8/2012 1:28:49 PM |
Beethoven All American 4080 Posts user info edit post |
You could get them something for the home itself (think sign, fancy bowl, etc) that you think fits with the character of the home. Or if they're wine people, a membership to a wine club that sends them their choice of wine every so often. A gift certificate to a nearby restaurant/vineyard/activity.
What's your price range? 8/8/2012 1:35:28 PM |
NCSUWolfy All American 12966 Posts user info edit post |
i'm thinking $100
the home is very well decorated & complete. they seem to have everything. they've had the home for over 15 years so it's also well stocked for entertaining & they have what seems like every hosting item, game or neat thing imaginable.
i also thought about something for the home but having a hard time coming up with something unique & useful that they don't already have 8/8/2012 1:43:16 PM |

I like the signs that are wooden carved that say things like "Family Name, established Year of Anniversary" or whatever.
A nice throw blanket for the home (think Crate and Barrel) and a hot chocolate set could be nice.
Or a gift basket with foods that won't go bad. Think Southern Season or Stonewall Kitchen.
A nice picnic basket could be neat too. I don't know why I think of picnic baskets when I think of Vermont. 8/8/2012 2:06:17 PM |

send them a gift certificate to somewhere nice in montreal. if they have 2 houses, they probably have too much shit altogether. 8/8/2012 3:30:44 PM |

i think the dress is really nice - i really like the top part of it. i love scallop detailing in general but it never looks good on me so i always steer clear of it.
but then again what do i know? 8/8/2012 6:59:31 PM |

Beautiful. And I think it'll be fine for a tea party. What was wrong with the green dress? 8/8/2012 7:07:03 PM |
elise mainly potato 13090 Posts user info edit post |
The main thing was it just looked terrible on me. Because of my weird waist it didnt sit right on me. Minor detail was that it was super flimsy. Felt like the lining on a dress, not a whole dress. I think it would look nice on the right body type though. 8/8/2012 7:33:56 PM |

I have lusted after so many dresses from Modcloth but every person who gets one pushes me further from ever ordering one. It seems like all the dresses look awesome on the screen, but they never fit anyone and always seem cheaply made in person. That makes me sad. 8/8/2012 8:29:00 PM |

I NEED THIS DRESS!
I wish I could order it right now, but with the amount of work I've been putting in at the gym. . .the custom sizing would be worthless (I hope) by the time Miss Elise's wedding festivities begin. 8/8/2012 8:29:22 PM |
