That picture of the snakebite reminded me of this series of photos of a guy's arm who got bitten by a rattlesnake. It's sort of gruesome, but pretty awesome too.

I would assume they were pumping him full of antibiotics the while time, and most of those pictures are right before/after surgery so they were probably keeping it covered with something during the whole process. The whole thing is really cool though, especially the story behind it, which is in the link at the bottom of the page if you didn't read it.
