I'll second Headhunters, but not quite as highly. It's a good thriller.

Bottle Rocket is awesome. Check it out if you've never seen it

Harry Brown is also pretty bad-ass.

Glad Lockout has been added, been wanting to see it but not really pay for it

My Way, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1606384/
Korean/Japanese WWII movie. Pretty good, in Korean and Japanese w English subtitles

Flowers of War, with Christian Bale. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1410063/
In Chinese, Japanese, and English. George at the end brought out my ugly crying face.

Fiance out of town = getting to watch a bunch of movies on Netflix that I know she wouldn't like.

Revolver: Meh.

Bronson: Liked Tom Hardy before this movie...love him now. Dude is bad ass (as an actor and in general). Movie is interesting, to say the least.

I don't mind seeing Tom Hardy's flaccid dick on-screen. Makes me feel much better about my own "grower not a show-er"

Has anybody streamed Star Trek TOS and noticed that some are remastered, while others aren't? I have been watching them since the Pilot with my family, and watched Obsession tonight. In it the planets and exterior shots looked like absolute ass. When I looked it up on Memory Alpha, sure enough they were the original effects. But they remastered them all so WTF?

"MUTANTS"

a good French survival zombie movie.

Primarily focuses on 2 people holed up in a building.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it here or not, but I watched "Bernie" last night and absolutely loved it. Jack Black was perfect in it and it also has Shirley MacLaine and Mathew McConaughey. It's funny and a really good(true) story.

Went back and rewatched the first 2 seasons of Portlandia on Netflix over the past week or two. Still really enjoyed it. Certainly some sketches that weren't great but it is enjoyable.

I recently watched The Company Men starring Ben Affleck and Tommy Lee Jones. Really enjoyed it. Good dramatic performances from both men.

I followed that up with Take This Waltz, the indie film with Michelle Williams. It was good, albeit slightly depressing.

3^ I loved Bernie, and while their performances were great the best part of that movie is the townfolk commentary of the mockumentary.

^yep, they were great. My favorite line was when they were discussing whether or not he was gay and one of them says something along the lines of "...that dog don't hunt"

i watched "Whores' Glory". holy shit it's depressing.

Bernie was great. I loved the old short haired blonde lady who talked about the apostles being bachelors but not gay.

Queen of Versailles wasn't as funny or as interesting as I thought it would be.

i'll have to see Bernie again.

I found the pacing to be droll and most characters to be unlikeable.

But I'll give it another go.

while hey now was correct in saying What About Earl wasn't as good after the first season, I have about 3 more episodes left in season 4 to finish the series and was fairly pleased overall

but I need a new TV show to watch on nights when movies are too long

any suggestions?

I've been watching the old ones, but they have new ones that started in 2005, they're good in a twilight zone meets weird british humor kind of way

that'll work

thanks

also to contribute something to the thread instead of just taking from it, I watched Margin Call the other night, movie with Kevin Spacey about the crash of the wall street market a few years ago...it was ok, i'm sure had some historical accuracy, but a lot of the acting seemed shitty despite the story being something that they could've made better than they did

dr who and torchwood : children of men are def solid to pass the time.

dr who gets a bit cheesy at times, but it's entertaining (ps : if you do watch torch wood ... skip season 1 and 2 and just try and pick up on the characters with s3 :children of men. great mini series, but s1 and 2 blow)
