I haven't played E Man so take this with a grain of salt, but lining up "5 wide" with either two TE's or a TE and a RB happens all the time in football. You don't need to be playing Dime or Quarter to properly defend it. Decent LBs should be able to adequately cover TEs and RBs. So if your come out in a nickel, and your safetys or linebackers end up covering his slot receivers, that doesn't seem to be a huge problem. Maybe its frustrating, but teams like Hawaii and SMU do it in real life all the time, so its not entirely unrealistic.

It appears some people only watch ncstate and have never even seen spread offenses that have been quite common from the big12 and other western teams over the last several years.

Nobody ever knows where guys will lineup while they are in the huddle. This just lets you know what type of players are in the huddle. On any level of football, the defense always lines up before the offense breaks the huddle.

And there are 11 guys able to act independently to react to their assignments, audibles, etc., not one guy fumbling through clunky, laggy controls. I never said it wasn't somewhat congruent with real football, I said it was en easy way to get a cheap advantage over an opponent in a video game that has no counter for it. damn, Wisconsin beats 35-33 in an instant classic

Up 5 in the red zone late in the 3rd, Garcia is sacked and the fumble is recovered for a 69 (i think) yard touchdown by some slow ass defensive tackle that my slow ass offensive linemen couldnt run down...Wisconsin went for 2, and Wilson threw a pick that ended up getting returned for about a 107 yard 2 point conversion to regain the lead by 1. Wilson then threw his first and only TD of the game to take a 9 point lead with about 2:30 left. The first play after that I bombed a deep touchdown to Alshon to cut the lead to 35-33. Driving late for a game winning field goal, Garcia underthrew a wide open tight end for a pick to seal the deal.

so i played my most fun CPU game of the season, and it doesnt look like any of it even registered

if anyone else has this issue, i might have to wait until the 2nd patch comes out cause this might be one of the end-of-season online dynasty issues that so many people have complained about on the EA forums

^^Had you told me you felt that way about it in the first game we played or during a pause, I would have swapped it just like I didn't do the other things you previously requested. I never heard anything until after the game so theres no way I can know how picky you are about which formations I can and cannot run especially considering you are the only person I have ever heard say it was cheap in all the games i've played. All I can do is ask you what you think is cheap since its obvious that you think tons of things that happen in real life and other gamers don't find as cheap are cheap. There are TONS of formations that have tes lining up wide. I don't understand how an advantage is gained that wouldn't normally be there. You knowing what formation is coming in the huddle would be an unrealistic advantage and if it happened so often, how did you not catch on and say "it says 3 wr, ok they are probably lining up wide"?

if you're doing a good job mixing the pass and run, an opponent might run some regular 4-2-5 nickel to match up with a 3-wide set...if they know you're coming with 5 wide, they're more likely to come out in a set with more backs

any idea about my server errors described above? i played the entire game, saved 5 highlights and got it when i went to upload them...my game results didnt register, still says i have to play Wisc, and doesnt say i had any disconnects

must be my xbox

there is no difference because in any set with 3wr and 1 te the hb can be moved out of the backfield resulting in the same thing.

I have no idea. That server issue has happened to me sporadically after games over the last few years(haven't seen it this year). I also know that my commissioner in the other dynasty waited like 3 weeks after the game came out to start because he was waiting for an update that would fix some sort of offseason transition problem. I don't know what it was but that dynasty is on its death bed right now in week 3 of season 2 since everyone is playing madden. We had a smooth end of season though.

I just noticed madden hasn't even officially came out yet. fuck. Things had been moving nicely and we had 4 user games open up on friday but only 1 has been played.

^^There weren't 2 hb. There were 3wr 1hb and 1te with the only difference being the hb in the backfield or outwide in a bunch with the te.

I don't know what to tell you then. roark king and adams (my 3wrs) play in all but 2 formations for me while amuiler (my te) plays every snap(except the 2 or 3 plays i ran spread flex) he also plays as the 5th wr. sanders and allen (my top 2 hbs) rotate as hbs with no 2hb sets (unless i go flexbone which i dont against you) williams (my 3rd hb) plays as the 4th wr. he will officially be a wr next season when im playing it offline

when i play jumbo z out of the pistol there is 1wr 3tes 1hb so that one might be a bit misleading. ace big is the only time i use 2wr
