i get where this is coming from. but i also kinda think the slower trickle of vote counting is contributing to how close the race feels.

when it's all said and done, if Biden wins NV, GA, PA, and AZ his electoral margin will be pretty similar to Trump's in 2016....and he'll have done so by flipping at least 5 states and winning the popular vote by a higher margin than Clinton in 2016. the congressional results are disappointing if you were hoping for a blue wave. and overall, yes, it's disappointing that it took a global pandemic to beat Trump. and i do agree that i was hoping this election, especially with really high turnout, would be a much more decisive and clear repudiation of trump. but hoping for a total landslide was probably an unrealistic hope all along.

i agree with your sentiment, but i also think the prolonged counting of votes and delay in knowing a winner makes it feel closer than it will ultimately be (yes, even with some of those flipped states having close margins).

i also think it's worth keeping in mind that polling shows most americans believe they are better off now than they were 4 years ago...and the incumbent is still going to lose. that's significant, imo.

I wouldn't be asking the question if I didn't care to learn. The notion is that if I'm not as smart, and not instantly picking things up, then I don't deserve to learn.

I know this is a message board from a research university but there are plenty of teachers and even professors who do care about student learning. There are student-centered universities but its something much more common in high-end, private, high schools.

Its the teachers job to teach the student and meet them where they are not just roll out the same content every year then throw their hands up.

But besides the vaccine "mandates" and mask-wearing, I don't really know what they're talking about (and I don't see how they didn't think our democracy was(is) in peril because of Trump and his GOP cronies, who really seem like they'd be happy with theocratic autocracy)
