there's a chance. it's not likely, but it's not as certain as cjl.

Brown has a better chance of staying next year than CJL did this year...imo.

I'm expecting him to leave after this year. Remember, he would have been here one year earlier had it not been for his high school English teacher back in Georgia.

I hope Brown tears it the fuck up and leaves. If he has a monster season next year (which will include having a good 3pt %), then we'll be golden. I don't care wtf happens in 2013...as a State fan for my entire life, I'm starving for an ACC championship and a legit chance at a Final Four run. Fucking looking ahead two years.

I don't really have anything to support than other than a gut feeling. CJL was ridiculously close to jumping ship this year. Let's remember that he didn't leave because he wasn't going to be a lottery pick for all intents and purposes. He was going to be late first early second round.

For one reason or another I just don't feel like Brown will be rated better than a middle second rounder after next year. Nothing wrong with that, but strictly comparing CJL's chances this year, with Brown's next year...it's how I feel.

Brown has got to develop a better shot, and a quicker slash to the basket if he wants to make it in the NBA. Otherwise he's a poor man's John Wall.

edit: This comparison speaks more to how incredible it is we held onto CJL this year than anything. I'm just saying if we held onto Leslie this year, I think it's certainly possible we hold onto Brown next.

^ I could be wrong, but that puts him ahead of Leslie in the projected '12 draft. I don't think that was the case.

Yes this is ESPN so take it for what it's worth, but here's his current stock for '13

Zo is bigger and stronger than Kendall Marshall, with a better shot and inside game. Marshall is a better passer, but the gap between him and Zo isnt that huge.

I'm a Zo homer, but I could easily see him being a middle first round pick next year

he also is every bit the body of an nba point guard, unlike leslie, which is why it's silly to say that brown is more likely to stay next year than leslie was this year.

"with a better shot"

Kendall Marshall has better 3pt and FG% than Brown. Brown is a marginally better ft shooter.

I definitely think Brown has the better offensive game, but it's not good enough to overcome Marshall's overall point guard skills. I hated it because he played for UNC, but that man's court vision and ability to make the tough passes are ridiculous.

If Brown keeps improving, he can be the better player because he has better physical attributes and is more athletic. But right now, Marshall is easily the better point guard.

I feel like there are several teams in the playoffs this year that could have gotten lucky and picked up Zo in the late first round this year.

OKC, LAL, Heat, Utah.. All of those teams could use a guy like Zo.

every mock draft I've seen has had him late first/early second, with a good year he should def be mid first, but mock drafting for next year right now is basically a crap shoot anyway

Brown is an erratic shooter. He's got a good shot when he's set and in rhythm, but he's too often always all over the place (I think a lot has to do with the height he has on his jump shot...a lot can go wrong when you rise up that high). Marshall was knocking down open threes left and right in the 2nd half of last year. The guy with the better percentages is the better shooter most of the time.

"Ralston Turner Officially Joins NC State
By NC State Media Relations

Posted May 22, 2012

NC State head coach Mark Gottfried announced the addition of Ralston Turner, a 6-6 guard from Muscle Shoals, Ala., to the Wolfpack program.

Turner has signed a financial aid agreement and will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2012-13 season under NCAA transfer rules.
“Ralston is a young man I’ve known for quite a while,” Gottfried said. “He’s a excellent shooter and a very good overall perimeter player. We are very happy to have him join us.”

Turner spent his first two seasons at LSU, playing in 60 games with 59 starting assignments for the Tigers. As a sophomore, Turner averaged 9.1 points per game while hitting .372 (51-of-137) of his attempts from beyond the arc.

As a freshman, Turner led the Tigers in scoring, averaging 12.3 ppg while playing 29.0 minutes a game. He scored in double figures 18 times during his rookie season, including seven straight double figure contests in SEC action. For his efforts, Turner earned All-SEC Freshman Team honors despite missing the first five conference games of the season due to injury.

At Muscle Shoals High School, Turner scored 2,502 career points in 148 games for an average of 16.9 ppg. He also made 247 three-pointers and recorded 263 blocks. Turner was a three-time All-State selection and twice named the Florence Times Daily Player of the Year. In 2010, he

lo had to create most of his own shots. marshall benefited from having literally no one guard him as a shooting threat the entire season.

didnt ty lawson shoot like 60% from 3 his junior year because all he had were open looks?

not to mention that marshall had all day to take his methodically slow 3 (going to get that shit stuffed back in his face in the league) because teams were giving him that shot

brown isn't a great shooter but he's better than marshall if he works on his shot. marshall obviously worked on his last year/last offseason. will zo do that for next year? who knows

marshall worked on his shot and no one guarded him. I mean, unless u have 5 lockdown defenders at every position you have to pick your poison and most people dared Marshall and the white kid to beat them, and they pretty much did, well Marshall at least.

exactly. his set shot isn't going to translate into 10ppg in the NBA. marshall has insane court vision and can run an offense as good as anyone. that is why he will be a lottery pick. he can hit open shots, but he's not going to be shooting threes in anybody's face or anything.

Except Kidd is one of the best rebounders in NBA history.

And his steal rate is insane, whereas Marshall not so much.

I think he'll be a bust. Doesn't have range, small, etc.

Plus PG is absolutely loaded in the league right now

Tyler Lewis should be a good pure point guard. Rodney can probably run the point, but i think he'll be more of a combo guard.

no, b/c "pass-first" describes how someone plays. "pure" makes it sound like being able to score and bring the ball up the court is a bad thing.

likewise, "throwback center" is very descriptive, and also hilarious, and also an awesome way to play basketball.

1- pure point guard
2- spot up shooter
3- tweener
4- banger
5- throwback center

maybe a triple threat off the bench

if i understand this page correctly, this is what we are looking for...

no thanks

it means they are looking to distribute the ball before shooting or driving

although driving, while looking to kick it to an open man is also acceptable

thanks

Miller can shoot, he's just not a big three point shooter...and at least he knows his limits. He's also an above average scoring point guard. I'm also very defensive of Andre Miller...I think he's one of the most underrated point guards of our generation. He also beat UNC in the final four...which gets him bonus points.
