allright I was wrong the diamonds are real. But I really liked the episode. we got rid of some dead wood, claire stood up to daddy, matt grew a pair and Peter got pissed off.
A friend of mine had a point, they can't let Peter have all of these powers. The writers are going to have to limit him or kill him off. 2/20/2007 12:34:00 PM |

we know sylar has:
telekenisis some sort of melting ability super hearing super memory his power stealing ability
any others?
also, how has he been able to survive being shot?

Aha! According to this week's graphic novel it looks to me like Bennet does work for Linderman as I predicted!
Someone asked when the finale is, there are six more episodes in this season.
I'm not sure what they'll do about Peter and Sylar. Kill each other maybe? Peter used Sylar's ability on Isaac.
Sylar survived being shot by sewing himself up. He didn't get shot in anything vital. It was in the graphic novel last week I guess. Bennet's people patched him up when he was being held by Primatech after the attack on Claire. He doesn't have a healing power it seems, but he was able to fool the doctor at Primatech when he was being held that he was dead. Not sure how he did that, but another ability of his to consider. Maybe it was just his knowing how things work ability.

^^^and I can't find it now, but I thought that I heard that the writers loved Slyar as a character so much to keep him around for a while 2/20/2007 2:37:55 PM |

Neither Sylar or Peter are going to be done at the end of this season. I'm guessing they both will disappear for a while after some sort of confrontation.
And yeah - last comic was pretty good... I love this show, they make you love every character, good and bad.

Ted Sprague wilting the graveyard was badass. Wanted to mention that too.
I like how Matt goes from uber-good-guy to teaming with Sprague. Peter and Isaac go from uber-good guys also to the angry confrontation that looks to have cost Simone her life.
Man, and I thought I'd miss 24 a little bit at least.

Sylar must be able to stop his heart, otherwise the hearing woman would have heard him coming...also, can Sylar fly? He said he wasnt walking. 2/20/2007 7:15:34 PM |

Yes, Sylar I believe uses his telekinesis to fly. She mentions she didn't hear his footsteps, I'm not sure how far away she could hear a heartbeat from.
I get the feeling that Sylar has at least one trick up his sleve in the form of an ability we haven't seen yet, but he'll bust it out right when he's about to get caught or killed and shock all of us.

hiro's already said he couldn't change what has already occurred. his travelling back in time is more like a self-fulfilling prophecy.
i also agree that linderman is bound to have some sort of power
and as for simone being around in future eps. we aren't sure she actually died. we saw her shot and pass out but i wouldn't be suprised to see the next ep start in the hospital with her in a coma or something else. remember, the someone dies part of the episode could have been the chick with super-hearing that sylar offed2/20/2007 10:52:42 PM |

Uh ... does this mean that Peter's going to blow up too then? I wouldn't be so quick to jump to that conclusion, and even less quick to jump to the conlusion that this proves she has some power. since there is a little debate about what happened on that episode...i haven't gone back to watch it again, but i remember hearing a clock tick right before sylar woke back up. That noise has been played whenever sylar's brain is figuring out how something works, ie, right before he kills someone. To me, he was dead but his brain may have had a little bit of function and "fixed" his body. If this is true, it means it will very hard to kill sylar, unless peter and hiro just chop off his head 2/21/2007 3:00:02 AM |

Peter, Claire, and Sylar can all be killed...I think if the brain is damaged they can't use their abilities such as regeneration or whatnot.
I also think the email/electronic woman is stupid. What kind of ability is that? I mean just use a blackberry or something.
Do you think Peter will figure out that he has more abilities that he has gained from his first encounter with Sylar?? 2/21/2007 1:26:44 PM |

^claire had a stick in her head in one of the early episodes, as soon as it was removed, she came back to life.
^peter may only be able to use abilities that others have used in his presence, so he might only be able to use what sylar actually used when they met.
^wireless' ability would make for the best spy in the world.

if she can really intercept and interpret any electromagnetic signal, that is a huge power. The ability to send/receive/read emails and IMs is just the tip of the iceberg. She'll be able to receive TV signals, radio signals, read any satellite signals like GPS, internet and TV, intercept hidden radio frequencies used by the government, intercept cell phone signals, etc etc. It's more powerful than being able to read minds2/21/2007 1:42:35 PM |

I think her power is not realistic at all. I mean, yeah I recognize we got a flying man, radioactive man, etc...but I mean come on, sending IMs and intercepting wireless communication? She'd have to be able to decrypt whatever encryption the software was using. 2/21/2007 1:46:07 PM |

i do agree with that. It is "feasible" (ignoring the fact that it's still silly to argue about it) that someone could intercept electromagnetic waves. After all, visible light itself is an emag wave that our eyes happen to be able to interpret. Therefore, it's reasonable to assume that someone could develop the ability to interpret other emag waves. Unencrypted analogue data like Radio and TV signals could pretty easily be interpreted via a wireless receiver.
But any digital or encrypted wireless data, like any satellite TV, internet communications, HD Radio, GPS signals, cell phones, etc would just be white noise unless you knew the encryption and protocols to unscramble them. So while I would buy that a Hero has the power to intercept wireless signals, I would also call BS on them having all the protocols and decryption techniques built in also (i.e. TCP/IP is built into their brains) 2/21/2007 2:08:29 PM |

i think its pretty pointless to debate which powers are more or less possible than others. we can agree that her character is pretty stupid and you can tell the writers are reaching...but its pretty stupid to argue that her power is less realistic than a guy being able to walk thru walls, or another guy being able to fly, or micah being able to fix electronic shit just by touching it ET style.
question tho, whats the difference between the s looking tatoo that keeps showing up on peoples shoulders the the rough looking patch of skin in the same place where they allegadly have tracking implants?

regarding sylar's powers, are there any specific moments when he healed himself? i'm thinking its more like stone skin. i remember in one of the early episodes, matt and the fed were chasing sylar. matt shot him a few times and sylar fell. then he stood up and you hear the bullets falling to the ground. and then after he fell off the high school with peter, he limped into the woods. that leads me to believe he couldn't heal himself, he just absorbed the fall better than a normal person. 2/21/2007 2:48:33 PM |

Ok, if you could have any one power except sylar's or peter's, which one would you want?
I'd like to have Charlie's ability to remember everything/be a brain sponge. i could still basically be normal, but have enough of an edge to be awesome. It's also the most plausible 'power' that someone could have. 2/21/2007 2:58:12 PM |
