the Union

The girl who gets mad at me and questions why I am late when I walk in about 5 minutes late sometimes annoys me. I heard they aren't letting her come back though. My clock said I was on time!
6/4/2009 11:05:12 PM
fuck the unionall they do is slow down jobs(im sure they do some good somewhere, but i dont see it in my travels)
6/4/2009 11:05:24 PM
yeah, they might have made since pre-osha/lawsuits, but now or days it is just a burden on the any company[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 11:20 PM. Reason : .]

my problem is when im working with a unionized company and i try to help out:I am ME, union employee is DA(think about it)DA: Boss, he's doing my job!(cause im too lazy or too stupid to get it done as fast as a non-union person)ME: I'm just trying to help out, I saw you were getting behind.DA: If I get behind, then everyone waits! (cause if they try to fire me and put in someone who can do it better, the union rep will rip them a new one)ME: *facepalm*This or some variation of it happens all too frequently.

Not only do I not get to go to a going away party my office is throwing for a coworker, but I am also going to be at the front desk all day AND I will not be getting a lunch.Being the receptionist is not my job, dude, this makes me want to go out and find something that will actually use my degree.

6/5/2009 9:14:34 AM
Rhode Island is full of rich people
6/5/2009 9:23:35 AM
^^ Oh I have, but Work Mom may have come to my rescue on this one. They keep saying that this is a temporary fix before setting up an automated secretary, but it's been "temporary" since last july.If it hits a full year I am going to make a cake for the people who are up at the front desk and shouldn't be and I have your mom's resume as of 5/19 in my gmail]
6/5/2009 9:55:43 AM

Parents that homeschool. Too many of them are the controlling, (unreasonably) demanding, type A assholes. That, or else they can barely wipe their own asses.--The chick from UNC who insists on giving people directions based on how she gets around. Which usually isn't the best way (neither simple nor fast), and gets HORRIBLY offended if I offer to help, say there's a better way, or make alternate suggestions. I grew up in this area, go to school here, and did delivery. I think I know my way around better than you [Edited on June 5, 2009 at 11:15 AM. Reason : fd]
6/5/2009 11:00:34 AM
That's just UNC people in general.
6/5/2009 12:10:08 PM
Thats just a generalization, in general.
6/5/2009 12:46:57 PM
My sister's the same way and she wasn't home schooled.
6/5/2009 12:54:09 PM
Not sure this has been posted but:People who cut doughnuts in half!
6/5/2009 1:45:41 PM
people who finish the pot and don't make more coffee
6/5/2009 1:50:47 PM
terrible terry tate says:you kill da joe, you make some mo'!
6/5/2009 1:52:35 PM
People who come into work who are obviously too sick to be there, but think that they are scoring brownies points with management, meanwhile infecting the whole office with their funk.
6/5/2009 1:54:20 PM
right now my biggest annoyances are my fucked up schedule and low payhaving to work on Saturdays totally blows, especially when we have a part-timer that should be doing it
6/5/2009 1:56:03 PM
who wants to use their personal days when they're sick though?
6/5/2009 1:56:06 PM
Oh yeah, and my boss still hasn't approved my vacation time for August over my birthday. I hate to tell him, but I'm going on that vacation whether he approves it or not.
6/5/2009 1:58:15 PM
6/5/2009 1:59:40 PM
a lot of places just give you an alotment of "personal" days or hours and they're for sickness, funerals, doctor's appointments, etc., but if you save them up you can have an extra week of vacation or whatever.
6/5/2009 2:02:09 PM
You guys have to take time off for that stuff? That sucks.
6/5/2009 2:14:48 PM

6/10/2009 4:51:08 PM
Well, long story short. The truck roll got done.I walked into the office and she immediately started apologizing. Saying that she was just a girl and all emotional and shit. I told her that she needs to stop taking business personal. My boss was copied on every one of those e-mails as well, so I can't wait to hear what he has to say about it.
6/10/2009 4:53:09 PM
At no point in this email string did it dawn on you to call the woman in question rather than exchange email after email ?You must be one of those people who text back and forth instead of making a callIts so much easier to just talk to the person than trying to communicate via written word
6/10/2009 4:58:41 PM
stupid cunt
6/10/2009 4:59:53 PM

i want to know what your boss says!
6/10/2009 5:03:46 PM
It doesn't matter if you were in fucking PhoenixTake 5 minutes to make a call rather then however long a pointess back and forth email chain takesYou just sound like someone who likes to avoid confrontation whenever possibleNothing wrong with that; it just takes longer to get things doneInefficiency is one of my pet peeves[Edited on June 10, 2009 at 5:07 PM. 6/10/2009 5:06:05 PM

6/10/2009 5:07:48 PM
Having the conversation documented is nice, too.
6/10/2009 5:08:23 PM

That's how things work at his fake job OK
6/10/2009 5:11:32 PM
I'm not going to act like I know your exact situationIt just seems like typing multiple 100 word + emails ( and waiting for a response for each one) would take a significant amount of timeWhereas a phone call resolves it instantlyand hey look its BobbyDigital with his two cents of wisdom, always quick to interject a nugget of knowledge anytime I say anything that goes over his dotted head
6/10/2009 5:12:14 PM
I give props when they're due (even for morons like you)but you don't know what you're talking about.
6/10/2009 5:15:11 PM
Its not a matter of knowing what I'm talking aboutIts my opinion that phone calls >>> emailsIn our field, its been proven time and time again
6/10/2009 5:16:51 PM
tell me how the fuck you gonna make a phone call in the middle of a meeting motherfucker?
