This weekend was a big Pumpkin beer weekend for me. Here are my thoughts:

The best - best pumpkin flavor, not overwhelmed by spices.

Next best - had a predominant flavor but I couldn't pick it out. Wasn't super spicy.

Third best - nothing special about it, sort of disappointed by Terrapin on this one.

Last place - much spicier than I liked. Probably wouldn't purchase again.

I've got two bottles of Southern Tier's Pumpkin. Curious how Southern Tier's Creme Brulee is. It seems like it's been in high demand at Sam's, but I didn't make a trip down to get any.

^^Creme Brulee is an incredibly sweet vanilla bomb...the kind of beer that is awesome for a couple sips but starts to give you a toothache by the time you finish it.

Found some Red Brick Vanilla Gorilla at Sam's... the smell is much different from the bottle than from the tap (not in a good way), but the flavor is still A+. Truly amazing beer.

Also tried a Weyerbacher Sixteen. Very tasty brew. Braggot style, brewed with "honey-wine."

I heart craft beer so much.

Last night, I went to this place called The Blue Dog Tavern in LA. Amazing beer and burgers... anyway...

I had an Affligem Tripel and a North Coast PranQster. Both were really good.

^^ bier garden on haywood (great food), barley's on biltmore (great pizza), pack's tavern over on pack square (not sure of the street name) for big tap selections. go to brusin ales and the weinhaus for your take-home needs. thirsty monk is not really my favorite due to the beer snobbery that engulfs it but they do have a lot of beers you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

then on top of that you have all of the local brews and brewpubs - wedge, oysterhouse brewing at the lobster trap, green man beer at the jack of the wood pub, craggy brewery, asheville pizza & brewing (jalapeno beer!!), french broad, lexington avenue brewery (LAB) - all in downtown or within a 3 mile drive.

good luck, and take a cab
