if you do watch dr. who I would start with the last two doctors, they're the only ones I really enjoy (dont know seasons or episodes wikipedia can help)

[Edited on January 20, 2013 at 12:27 AM. Reason : this comes from someone completely new to the show, dont hate me nerds]

if i'm gonna watch ANY show i'm gonna watch it from the pilot on

i know people where i'm like "yeah the wire is awesome" or "yeah you should check out dexter" and they're like "i watched a few minutes of a couple episodes and couldnt get into it" and i'm like no shit, cause you jumped into it without the background

of course because of that i took those same peoples' advice about "oh The League is great" or "check out It's Always Sunny, its fucking hilarious" as skeptical because of their own skepticism, even though both those shows are great

ya, I'm the same way. hence why I've been watching black and white episodes of dr. who lol

BUT, my hook was that i watched a few of the new episodes and was intrigued enough to start from the beginning

I watched that like four times and still have no idea what the hell was going on.

Watched Craigslist Joe last weekend, was good. I also watched a documentary on Auschwitz, it was horrifying but interesting... honestly scarier than any movie in the Netflix horror section.

Watched Bernie last night. It was great.

And has anyone seen Whisker Wars? It's all about "bearding" (beard growing). You can find a show about anything.

i really wanted to laugh, but i just couldn't. i felt like most of his jokes were told purely for shock value, in the hopes that your "OMG DID HE REALLY JUST SAY THAT" would result in nervous awkward laughter.

no thanks!

watching craigslist joe right now

20 minutes left, and I don't know if I can take anymore.

I mean it's a one-note beat... and the guy is pretty unlikeable. The whole premise bothers me.

OH, also started Sunny. I can't believe I've slept on this show for so long. Hilarious.

what I appreciated about Butter is that it didn't try to get serious. Some movies like that try to go from being somewhat whimsical to having some sort of moral or high ground all of a sudden in the third act. And it didn't really try to go that route.

I watched Bronson last night per the recommendations in this post. Good movie, not great, but can appreciate Tom Hardy's acting chops. It's a little out there though, and had a touch of Stanley Kubrick feel to it.

Dear Zachary

Holy crap why did i watch this on a great afternoon. Now I'm sad and depressed.

Watch if you want an emotional doc that plays out like a crime thriller.

Adventures of TinTin - awesome

Jeff Who Lives at Home - not bad

Ondine - Irish film from 2009 with Colin Farrell. Very good. Really enjoyed it and do recommend it.
On the coast of Cork, Syracuse is a fisherman, on the wagon, living alone. His precocious daughter, Annie, about 10, has failing kidneys. One day, a nearly-drowned young woman comes up in his net; she speaks oddly, calls herself Ondine, and wants no one to see her. He puts her up in an isolated cottage that was his mother's. Annie discovers Ondine's presence and believes she's a selkie, a mythical seal turned human while on land. If this is a fairy tale, is there a happily ever after, or do the realities of alcohol, illness, and worse intrude, including Syracuse's inveterate bad luck? As his priest tell him, misery's easy, it's happiness you have to work at..

Motorcycle Diaries (Probably has been recommended before). Its about Che and the adventure he took with his friend riding across South America. The trip is believed to have developed his first political ideals but the movie focuses on Che and his adventure more so than politics. Fantastic movie.
