I also stated that S&P is hitting a key point which could mean a continuation of the rally or a reversal
It is up in the air at this point
long term would not mean 1 week though

either way after i have started I will reveal my source, or i may even charge for it since y'all are being ungreatful

Hell, while we're at it, lets just see how you've done lately

Quote :
"why is wamu going down?

i was thinking of getting in around $2"

Quote :
"that sounds pretty bad, i'll check into it
but i guess putting some cash down at $0.50 or so wouldnt be such a bad bet

9/10/2008 8:00:35 PM"

How did that one work out?

Thoughts on the markets for the Monday after the Lehman news
Quote :
"it will be dark but not as bad as you may think
with lehman's bankrupcy there are some buyouts so that is mixed news

9/14/2008 10:14:27 PM"

Quote :
"actually i just placed a trade for lehmq at 0.20
just waiting for someone to sell it to me

9/26/2008 12:03:19 PM"

Hey, if you held your stock for a year, you could have gotten out at even or a small profit in recent days. gg you!

Quote :
"wamuq is a great pick right now

10/1/2008 10:59:16 PM"

Damn, got us again. If we'd only jumped in when you called it then we could have gotten out a year later and missed the run up with all that capital we deployed. Dern.

Quote :
"if yall are not buying WAMUQ yall r dumb

its going to skyrocket

10/3/2008 12:30:45 PM"

Don't need to add anything else to this.

Quote :
"I hope to start 2009 with a big bang, i hold IDMPQ stock
it should be getting bought out today or the next few days $$$$$$

12/31/2008 5:31:59 PM"

Given your comment from 12/30, my guess is you bought this right at the top and would be down 75% today, including the 24% pop from the HFTs chasing this dreck.

Quote :
"I bought FNM - fannie MEa at 0.40 last week, its on a nice ride
hoping it will get to $2 or $3 by the end of the month"

Hey hey hey. You finally gambled right for a change - along with everyone else throwing darts at the market around the March lows.

Quote :
"FAZ near 17.00

im looking to jump in mid day.

Fail.

Anyway, I got tired of searching for your fails, but not before I found this

Quote :
"open a scottrade margin account, they are the best
once you open deposit money and you'll be trading DNDN in the same day, in one hour if you wish

and when you deposit money they will take it out of your account tomorrow

currently i have $4600 invested which is roughtly $3400 cash, $1000 margin

you can open an account today and trade today"

You simply can't move in and out of securities 10-20 times a day without 25k in your account.

The bullshit meter is pegged. You're a fraud. Umm, get the fuck out?

So you attribute your losses to bad luck? And barely 2 months later you are trading with a 100k account?

What the hell,
first of all i've only been a professional trader for 3 months,
everything before then was merely wild speculation and i was investing a small amount of money

if you wanna test my stock picking skill i'll be more than happy to demonstrate them to you
but obviously you dont realize that with time and research your choice of stocks may change
not all will be right, its about minimizing losses, and maximizing gains

but really i'd rather just make $$$ than prove myself on this site

^a lot of people have been shorting this rally and has killed them, i unfortunately did that for a while, then re-evaluated my strategy and have been doing great ever since, but thanks for your concern

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and shits like a duck, it's likely a duck.

Everything I posted points to you being a gambler without a damn clue about what you are doing.

In all of the 2008 and 2009 thread, I found like 2-3 picks where you were a clear winner, and I think 2 of those were calls at the March lows. Many you would have been stopped out with losses had you set them, and others you were just retarded.

As recently as June 30th you said you were out of the market because of bad luck. That doesn't sound like a "trader" at all. It sounds like someone with an addiction and no clue.

Maybe you've had some sort of miraculous rebirth and you really do know whats going on, but I find that fairly hard to believe.

Is it reasonable for someone going on as little information as you are giving to assume given your track record in the past was that abysmal and your trading account was that small that you are now trading with an account larger than 25k and you aren't blowing it left and right? No, that isn't reasonable at all.

What is reasonable to assume is that you are lying or trolling...absent any shred of evidence otherwise.

Quote :
"but really i'd rather just make $$$ than prove myself on this site"

Spoken like a true troll. It isn't hard to post even a snapshot of an account statement. You can smudge the dollar amounts if you like. I'd just like to get a taste of this stellar stock picking you're doing.

I'm not trying to be a dick here. If you really are about to embark on a career as a pro trader and are doing a good job of it, I'll be happy for you and perhaps a little jealous. But there is really nothing in a year worth of stock threads that points to this being at all likely. You started out with paper money and dabbled in penny stocks. You then tried to hop on every recent bank failure bandwagon claiming they'd be huge winners eventually. You got a couple stocks right at the lows, found a nut with DNDN (apparently, I didn't follow all those posts to see how well you did), then had fail after fail and proclaimed you were done trading.

Clearly, it makes sense that you are now a pro trader with 100k in investor backing. Clearly.

Good day today, got a nice move from my coal stock and I must say it feels nice to finally actually be making money after stomaching the past year. I was looking at a 66% loss or so around march and am now sitting at about a 7% gain overall. It definitely sucked to feel like all my money was gone so quickly but it damn sure taught me a lot. You can paper trade all you want to but until your money is on the line you dont really learn, at least in my case. Hopefully now that I have a fresh start or so it feels and over a years worth of knowledge to work with I am hoping to somehow navigate these muddy waters ahead a little better

RIMM had a 9 figure lawsuit settlement this quarter that they had to pay which killed their revenue this quarter and of course the pundits are shouting armageddon over the numbers strictly, didn't hear a word about the lawsuit from the usual media suspects. Took them from over a dollar to .83, healthy pullback if you ask me, to me it'll be a great buy tomorrow morning for a 3-6 month play.

The lawsuit alone didn't kill their quarter. You can't expect the pundits to always get this right, especially if those pundits you are talking about is CNBC. They often see top line and bottom line numbers seconds before they start running their mouths. Retail investors aren't trading after hours anyway, so you can believe institutional investors read all the details and acted accordingly.

Even if you put the payout back into the earnings, they made 1.03 this quarter per 1.12 last quarter. This isn't good. They also had guidance going forward that is lower than analyst were expecting. The lawsuit settlement was baked into the current price. The miss otherwise and the lowered guidance certainly was not.

It's pretty hard to say if the stock will snap back. Suffice to say I wouldn't be so eager to jump in right away in a market everyone expects to correct on a stock that just reported an earnings and guidance miss.

A lot of blogs I follow think that we'll see one fierce push higher, maybe lasting as much as Dow 10000, S&P 1100, followed by some fairly nasty dropping with the S&P getting back to a more realistic range around 900.

yeah, i've had it for a couple of years

i'll probably let it expire next time my subscription runs out, because (A) i'm so busy at the moment that I don't have as much time to devote to investing, and (B) the subscription is rather expensive...I'll probably come back to it when I get up to, say, the 6-figure mark in my stock portfolio, but for the time being, I'm not sure that it isn't effectively too high of an expense ratio.

anyway, BIG drop in the markets today.

So half the experts are loading up, the other half are dumping, so I'm guessing consolidation for the next 5-7 trading days. WHat time does the Jobs data come out tomorrow, that'll move the market triple digits on it's own.

I think we might see a heavily massaged (ie, seasonal and birth/death adjusted) NFP number tomorrow. If that happens, it should give the bears among us reason to rejoice as we'll see a nice spike off that news, probably worth a good 100 or so on the Dow. I'll be entering fairly heavy call positions in the inverse ETFs as I suspect we'll finish the day down and next week will just be brutal.

Tomorrow is really hard to judge because we have had several down days so far
so we may get a sell off early and bounce if the news is bad
but everyone expects it to be bad so i would assume the sell off is not as bad

we may drop to the 1020 based on the trend line going back to march

It looks like they ran out of seasonal adjustments and games to be played with the NFP. Isn't it interesting how that happened in a week where GS started downgrading and questions stocks and sectors all over the place?

I feel like stocks will rocket after earnings come out... companies are pretty lean and it's been a good quarter. Long run I still think we're poised for terrible growth in most sectors and if the dollar does bounce look out, we could be in for another massive selloff in domestic equities.

I'm having an unbelievable year riding AAPL, china, asia, gold, and leveraged long domestically. The only regrets I've had were moving into natural gas and corporate bonds way too early in mid-summer.

Apple's the type of stock everybody has been waiting on a serious pullback the last 3 months because most companies need to pull back in order to accelerate. Apple is one of the companies that doesn't, especially when they blow through the roof on earnings in two weeks. Even though they've doubled since the bottom, I still think I'll be kicking myself in 12 months for not getting in at the 180 level when it's sitting at 240.
