To be honest, Trayvon Martin reminds me a lot of my little brother. He is 16, tall and skinny, can sometimes look threatening, has a loud mouth on him, and has been caught growing/selling marijuana.

I know all the things I just said about my brother seem to make him look like a horrible person but in all reality he is a scared little shit that thinks he is grown and often makes bad decisions even though he is really a good hearted kid. His latest suspension was because he was making out hard core with his gf at his locker and he then cursed out a teacher and the assistant principal when he was told to stop. Stupid asshole shenanigans.

Guidance is what these kids need and I honestly think a good male role model. That is what it sounds like his mom was trying to do sending him to his father's house. My mom had the same idea. Scared little shits can be reformed if they are just taught how to be a citizen and how to be a real man.

Of course my little brother isn't black but he obviously becomes a target at times because of the shit he has done in his past.

For those who are "too long, don't watch," a hidden camera crew has a group of three White youths vandalize a car, and a group of Black youths do it on a separate day. Both do it in the same spot on broad daylight.

For the White youths, the passerbys just laugh at them, or tell them they shouldn't do that, or even cheer them.

For the Black youths, the passerbys call 911 10 times or yell at them or confront them angrily about getting out of there (thank god no one had a gun, right?)

For the White youths, there's only one 911 call. And it's regarding three suspicious Black kids in a van... who are relatives of the Black youths and are sleeping while waiting for the shoot to be over.



And you have to realize that the people who called 911 would react the same as you. They would swear up and down that they aren't racist. They would say that they'd call 911 just the same on a group of White kids.

But time after time we see that doesn't happen. What you have to realize is that when they see a group of White kids, they associate those kids with their community. They see them as just some kids who are screwing around.

But the Black kids? They're an unwanted other. They're a force of violence and fear in their community. And they need to get them out of there.

This happens all the time. And these people say they're not racist, and they justify it by saying that they don't actively discriminate against Black people. But they do. They just don't realize it.

And that's the same thing that happened with Zimmerman and Martin.

Were those men in the wrong? Yes.

Were they arrested for their crime? Yes.

So, what's the point? Are you asking why no one is out protesting? Probably because the people committing the crime were arrested for it. That's why this has nothing to do with this case.

Obama used the Trayvon Martin thing as a political move to secure votes/support. He took advantage of something that's already emotionally and racially charged and potentially made it worse.

The Brits were not looking for a public statement but just a response to their letters, that's all. Obama didn't bother because, as they said, there's no political value in it.

At best, those medical records would be able to show that Zimmerman was in a fight or scuffle. By that same logic (having a a bullet hole in his chest and presumably bruises) Trayvon's autopsy would show that he was acting in self defense too.
I still think Zimmerman is going to have quite a difficult time proving self defense here.
