Yes, the Saints, who also finished with a losing record and didn't make the playoffs in desperation game after completely shitting the bed vs the Bucs in week 1.

Isn't that the one and only week RR has been at .500 through 32 games?

^^ how many of those 11 came after we were eliminated from playoff contention?

Let's hope they do the right thing and make Ross an offer he can't refuse when he interviews this week. If you want to build through the draft as we all know Jerry does, a great place to start with a GM would be a director of college scouting from a well run franchise.

Never heard of him, but face would've been an upgrade over Hurney, so I'm on board.

i wouldve freaked out about this after the 2011-12 season

but considering how cute he got with playcalling the first half of this year until Rivera chewed him out, i say good luck and good riddance

he was an amazing OC his first year in Cleveland too, then their offense sucked dick the next year

Yeah, Chud's offense only works for about 10 weeks. Even at the end of 2011, the Panthers couldn't pass the ball for shit.

I hope to hell Rivera doesn't hire Norv. Fuck that guy and his antiquated offense. Cam needs a creative play-caller to utilize his unique skill-set. Keep using the zone-read, but get the running game back to where it was in 2011. The vertical offense will develop naturally as the safeties are forced to crowd the box.

Awesome. Luke is quickly becoming the best defensive player the Panthers have ever had. Never doubted the pick for a second. Here's to hoping he stays concussion free.

Next year really all comes down to Cam. We've got a good defense, playmakers on offense, a decent-enough OL, just need Cam to make some plays and not kill us with turnovers. If he plays like he did the last half of the season, we're in the playoffs. If he slips back to the indecisive, inaccurate, diva version of Cam, we're looking at 8-8 at best.

good article on our salary cap woes. Hurney really screwed us bad. I say cut them all that he recommends (except Gross which he also says is unlikely) and just tank the season. We'd add one more good draft pick and it would give us two years to try to win with Cam before we get reamed by his contract. Pathetic situation all around.

tank the season? lol gtfo with that bullshit

that article is chicken little as fuck

cut Gamble, bam, half our problem is solved

restructure with Gross and CJ, we're only a few million off

it wont be difficult at all

guess you forgot about draft picks. And the fact that we need LB's who can play more than 3 games.

and cutting gamble leaves our secondary in shambles again, so that doesn't exactly solve our problems.

Not to mention we still need a WR. And we weren't that good this year.

We're in rough shape for next year it looks like. 7-9 type team not a contender.

Only our 14th overall pick will take up any significant future cap space

Kuechly, Davis and Beason/Anderson will be fine for our LB corps

Our secondary played well the 2nd half of last season without Gamble

We could very well draft a WR in the 1st round, that or safety, because a DT isn't gonna give an instant impact and Rivera is coaching for his job

All we have to do is win a few close games and we're a playoff team next year

lol at tank the season

dt much more likely to make a significant impact their first year than a receiver, statistically.

screwed in the secondary next year. LB is going to be a struggle again, but we have a chance to have a good d-line if we address DT issues.

I say tank it.

Lol tank the season.

We are poised to be a monster based on advanced stats, and that's with some of those big money guys we might need to cut being on IR anyway.

DT's not named Ngata, Wilfork, Suh, etc aren't gonna make a noticeable impact their first (or likely 2nd) year...and none of those guys are in the draft, let alone at the 14th pick

our ends are good enough, combined with our top-5 LB corps in the league where DT isn't as big an issue as people want it to be

a top tier rookie WR will give Cam another weapon, take some pressure off Olsen, and hopefully allow 89 to play more snaps in the slot

or draft a stud left tackle, move Gross to the right side, and give Cam a lot more time

making the decision to consciously waste Cam's 3rd year, after he figured out his sophomore slump issues, is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard

a few things from the past week:

- we did not franchise anyone
- restructured Olsen's deal to save about $2.4 million in the cap this year
- released Ron Edwards

now that Bowe signed a longterm deal with the Chiefs, i'd really like to see us make a strong push for Wallace or Jennings...preferably Jennings
