in order to get randle we have to get off to a hot start this year and look like a legit badass program, not just some borderline top 25 team. He's not going to risk his career unless we look legit. Even then it's obviously still a huge long shot. Would be unbelievably huge, not only for his talent but as a statement that it's really okay to go to NC State regardless of who else is recruiting you.

Meeks is a little more realistic but it will be tough to beat out UNC. It would still be a HUGE get because beating Carolina heads up again would also make quite the statement. Particularly for a Charlotte guy (when have we ever gotten anyone from Charlotte? I can't remember a single one, most of our in-state guys are local or eastern NC). Not to mention we need a top big badly and so does UNC so this one really sways the balance of power.

The Heels signed 3 forwards last year, and in addition to Hicks, Vonleh seems like a lock for them. Plus they got some dude named Hubert who redshirted. Roy also said that he's "all in" for Randle. That's 6-7 forwards in 2 classes.

I don't know when they actually fill their post-player quota, but it would seem like they are running out of spots for guys like Meeks.

I think UNC passes on Meeks unless they miss on someone else, including Randle. So I think we might be Meeks best option, and hopefully he comes here and plays with a chip-on-his-shoulder when we play UNC.

Raleigh isn't the the best town and we don't have the most beautiful campus...but it's worlds better than the shit-stain that is Columbia and their crappy campus. Our facilities blow their's away as well. Gott should make sure to show him a video of one of their home games and how "pumped up" their crowd can get. We only lose this if he's hell bent on staying really close to home and likes football a lot.

Raleigh is a much prettier campus than people at State give it credit for. It's got that whole east coast living in the forest vibe going on that is hard to find at other schools, even other schools in the woods like UNH, where the whole campus has pretty much been leveled flat of trees.

I don't hate our campus...but its nothing special. And I love Raleigh, but its also not a college town.

That being said...both campus and town are fuckloads better than Columbia and USC.

They do have a much better football gameday atmosphere.
