^^,^^^ yep pretty much. They're always much thinner, often bigger (might drape to the floor) and aren't as warm and fluffy as a comforter.

I got a plain white duvet at Ikea for the guest room for like 30 bucks, no covers yet, but I like the idea of being able to change them any time I want, and the prices were great. Some were only 15 bucks. Ambrosia1231 taught me a super easy way to deal with the duvet and cover. Turn the cover inside out and safety pin the bottom corners and then flip the duvet into the cover. They also have coverlets for light cover, summer and such, and we got one for ten bucks I think.

my mom makes nice duvet covers with sheets (or fabric) and piping. she will sew little ties on the corners inside, so you can tie the corners of the duvet and hold them in place. she's so cute

what's the secret to getting rid of static on certain types of clothing?

i do my own laundry and do a pretty good job. Always use a dryer sheet, etc etc. but i have like 2 pairs of gym shorts and a couple dry-fit shirts that are just static nightmares. every other piece of clothing in the load will be fine except for these. Is it just the winter weather + polyester material?

i've done the quick fix of spraying hairspray on them. I used to have a static remover spray but that's long gone.

Hey, good call on that description. I love maxi dresses but always feel like a morman mom-sister. I could never put my finger on that description- but you nailed it.

I would try to find a dress that doesn't have one of those wacked out high waist lines ..... less frumpy....and get a matching jacket- maybe like a khaki one that you can roll the sleeves up or something?

I'm no lady, but why not just go with a sundress and a light jacket or get a sarong while you're there? Either one is going to look better and probably be something you could wear again regularly as opposed to a full length skirt which honestly you'll probably never pull out of your closet again.

I don't like halter tops...they usually look trashy, but that's really not a bad one

I've pretty much decided to cut my hair like Willow from season 4 of Buffy the vampire slayer. The troll episode where it is all curly pretty much sealed the deal. I just spent several minutes taking pictures of my TV screen with my phone so I have lots of examples for when I go to the salon. Now, I need to find a moderately priced salon to go to. hahaha I would check the invitation. Black tie usually calls for long formal dresses, but you can get away with cocktail if it's SUPER dressy (and not just a stupid sparkly applique on the waist). White tie, you better not even think about wearing short.
