It is worth it I can't say as it is "better" at this point. As I thought pre-WotLK seeing the same places for both 10 and 25 man raids does get old. And they are making resto druids pretty lame in that the only way to compete now is to spam WG (which is thankfully being phased out) or spaz spam Regrowth using Nature's Grace procs and stacking haste. I miss the days of methodical lifebloom and rejuv rolling on a series of tanks and actually having it healing worth a damn and not just getting washed over. 12/14/2008 8:54:50 PM |

Healing in general is very very very easy right now. I'd wait till content get significantly harder. I'm not even planning on promoting any of my healers because I don't feel that they've been tested doing anything.
That being said, this is a billion times better then BC and old wow. Otherwise I'd have quit. 12/15/2008 3:21:11 AM |

From what I've seen of a friend raiding, it doesn't seem to be as much of a problem with the encounters themselves being poorly-designed, but the classes simply having become too powerful.
Then again, a lot of instances COULD use buffs to the stats of the bosses. Make em hit harder, make the fight longer... it'd alleviate some of the mass-easy at least. 12/16/2008 12:48:40 PM |

I don't recall... what weapons could druids use before? Just staves and maces? Just staves, even? Honestly don't remember...
Don't see why not to let them use Polearms, except for the general fantasy lore-ish issue of bladed weapons not being within the ethos of druids. Since Blizz can put whatever stats on whatever item type they want when they create loot tables, to some degree there's not really any difference between one type of two-handed weapon and another type of two-handed weapon, other than appearance (and who can use it, and which talents affect it for certain classes).

From what I reckon it's because of how they are screwing over changing kitty weapons and bear tanking. There is no longer going to be the +over9000 AP for cats, bears and boomkins (oh my) but instead it is going to be based off of weapon damage. When we think of polearms now they tend to have decent damage and usually an agility component. This makes them viable weapons for cats and bears without Blizz having to work too hard when making new staves/maces and allows them to keep homogenizing everything into the ground. 12/16/2008 2:53:02 PM |

Having a new character is a blessing and a curse.
I'm a Blood Elf 25 warlock now (started Friday last week). Eversong Woods, and Ghostlands are almost totally empty, you can quest with very little competition or worry. But then when it came time to do the boss, I had to get a 76 hunter friend come in and kill it for us because no one else is there to do it.
Same goes for all the low level instances, very few groups (though I did get picked up to blitz through RFK last night, amazingly). I just get my hunter buddy to run me through the instances for the quests and loot. I feel sorry for people that start Warcraft because they see Mr T or Shatner on TV promoting it; I have a feeling that there will be a lot of inaccessible content in the old world. 12/17/2008 2:05:00 PM |

for example, the only reason one would step into MC or BWL or AQ or anything 60 in BC was for shits and giggles.
And you couldn't even raid BWL apprently because it was borked after BC or somehting. 12/17/2008 4:42:54 PM |

The gear isn't worth it but my buddy and I run Onyxia whenever we can for gold + boe's (about 100g if we 2 man) and ZG to try to get the raptor/tiger mounts.
maybe we'll do Kael one day to try to get the phoenix mount...

So... I finally capitalized on the copy I reserved at the end of this summer.
Will see how this plays out. I'm anticipating a fucking long installation/patching process. Hopefully the old guild I was in hasn't dissolved completely or anything.
Confirmed, the install is taking fucking forever. At 3% and it's been going for 10 minutes or so.

Last time I played was right after the super-weak-BC-boss-nerf patch. And as I was quitting, though, the guild was already starting to fall apart due to all the raiders going inactive or moving to other guilds because of all the inactive people. Oh, and the guild master quit the game indefinitely due to real-life family/children issues.
I'm pretty sure it still exists, but I'll be amazed if they've managed to rebuild and resume raiding/endgame content.12/18/2008 1:02:36 PM |

^^ Uh, last night a 68 prot warrior was fucking owning my 67 DK, who is able to kill 95% of the people I go against with me paying little attention to what I'm doing. I don't know if at 68 he had somehting that was just OP for the level or if he was just real damn good, but it was frustrating. Shockwave, whatever that is, revenge, and shield slams was hitting me for 2 and 3k. Then he has some reflective shield bullshit, stuns, etc. 12/18/2008 2:26:15 PM |

Question for you... I've been running WoW on a 6 year old machine for over a year now. It's finally getting to be too crappy for me. I ran a 25 man raid last night at was running at 6 FPS.
I have a Windows XP SP3 disk and want to know what type of specs I should get for a barebones kit.... I'm going to piece it together.
What type of CPU? RAM? Mobo? Video card?
I'm not looking to spend too much and I don't plan on playing too much other than WoW (which isn't very tolling on a computer)
Thx for any help... If someone were to build me a kit on an online wishlist that I end up buying, I could see a tip in your future 12/19/2008 7:59:20 AM |

ok I' having a strange problem with wow running from a laptop. I connect and after 10-20 seconds I am DC'd. after that happens the entire wireless network is unusable until I reboot the router. there are 2 desktop computers connected via wireless and they work fine.
I've looked on the support forums and they suggest to disable 'checksum offload' but my wireless adapter (intel 4965agn) doesn't have that option, or else it's called something else and I can't find it. I've updated drivers/wireless software and have had no luck.
anyone else experienced a similar issue?

We finished 10 man Naxx and 25 man last night.... Guild first for both. Got my leet 2h axe, so now I'm dual wielding Death's Bite and Titansteel Destroyer. Had 3800 DPS on 25 man Patchwerk for Titan Grip Warrior. thats a HUGE upgrade from my first 10 man Naxx run (averaging 2100 dps)
Stepping into EoE tonight. I feel sorry for all you people that had to power thru all the raiding and have nothing to do now. I'm very happy with the pace my guild is taking. EoE is last thing we have (10 and 25). Then we try to get achievements. 12/22/2008 8:19:59 AM |

its not that we have nothing to do. we gotta get everyone with best in slot everything and manage to clear it all by the end of weds night. this way we have thurs->mon to do arenas. I find 10 mans a lot more fun than the 25 mans anyway. naxx 10 with 8 people and me being pvp spec? that's fun to me 12/22/2008 8:50:07 AM |

You feel sorry for us why?
You spend the same amount of time in game and clear stuff twice four times as slow.
We can now raid one night a week, get the best gear for alt specs, and use the rest of the week to do whatever we want outside of game for the next two months (or whenever ulduar drops). 12/22/2008 3:22:08 PM |

I'm trying to remember this cooldown bar mod that I used to have. It was packaged with Photek and you could do /xxx test (whatever the addon was called for xxx obv) and it would throw up two or three sets of mock bars.
It's not classtimer and i'm 80% sure it's not cooldowncount. Does anyone have any idea? It's probably not even updated anymore and I should just grab classtimer i guess. Shit's annoying me to no end though.
It monitored shit like frost nova duration and such too...or maybe that was a separate addon with "watch" in teh title...HRM
