I didn't see it in the thread already, but if you're 21, go take a tour of Carolina Brewing Company in Holly Springs. It's pretty cool to see how they brew, and you get all the free beer you want for a couple of hours. 2/6/2007 12:38:02 PM |

Going to a pet store is a free minor activity -- obviously you can't make an evening of it, but if you happen to be eating/seeing a movie near one, it can be a decent time-killer. Of course, this works particularly well if you're taking out an animal freak, but I think it could work for at least a little while on anyone who isn't averse to pets.
On that note, go to the Pet Pad in Cary and make them let you play with as many dogs as you can before they start trying to give you excuses for why they can't. Then, act as though you are serious about getting one, and they will let you play with more. 2/6/2007 12:48:59 PM |

- my husband took me to a symphony rehearsal. symphony tickets are expensive, but the rehearsal is free/almost free.
- a capella at a neighboring university?
- first night in downtown raleigh?
- Charlie Goodnight's on wednesday is inexpensive, if you don't get a meal.
- the Borders where i used to live had open mic every friday/saturday night. poets, singers, songwriters. it was interesting - and they have a cafe instore. not sure if the Borders around here do this.
- putt putt is inexpensive.
- midnight bowling with a group is inexpensive. a place in Cary is $40/lane (including shoes) for the entire night after 10pm.
