couldn't you say this about any provider?
there will always be someone more expensive. as soon as whatever provider you are on goes down, you can whip out the "you get what you pay for" card. no provider can be 100%.

i'm with woodfoot up there. it's great for personal webpage, storage, and just fucking around. if you want business hosting and it's really that important then go pay someone $25+/month, or 12 times this price, for business hosting.

my databases are down.....
on my Wordpress database, I get a generic Wordpress error:

but for all of my custom PHP/mySQL pages I get

what's a "yahoo domain". Is Yahoo a registrar? Do you mean you have registered a domain name like moody.com through yahoo? If so (which i wasn't aware is possible....), then you should have a administration page that you can log into and transfer registrars.
If you have a name like moody.yahoo.com or moody.geoshities.com or something like that, then you can't transfer the name - it belongs to yahoo. You'll have to register a new one with Progress.
If you want to transfer your data and content, you'll just have to download all the pages and re-upload them.

but, assuming you know what you're talking about, the DNS servers are
NS1.PROGRESS-SYSTEMS.COM
NS2.PROGRESS-SYSTEMS.COM

Anyway, anyone know how to get in touch with Hassell anymore? I jsut got notice today that I was charged $25 on a paypal subscription that I didn't know was still active. I cancelled any future payments, but the $25 already went through. I emailed jon@jonathanhassell.com and it bounced, and I also sent it to sales@enablehosting.com, which I imagine he rarely checks anymore.

Anyone know what happens if a payment goes "unclaimed"? Will the payment return to my account after X days if hassell never claims it?

I am trying to do a million things at once and it is catching up to me.

Ill be clearing out all of the old support logs through the remainder of this week, and will get to your tickets ASAP.

As a side note, its about to rain down on some people that are using software they shouldn't on the server. I haven't had a chance to track the people down yet, but if you are doing something you shouldn't, you should stop. I will have the time to track these people down tonight or tomorrow, and they will most likely lose thier accounts.

Ive posted on our forums about emergency maintenance tonight, but I figure I should let everyone here know. I will be patching the server and disabling the scripts that are crippling the server. I will be sending out emails to those who get a portion of thier site disabled with instructions on how to get it turned back on.

It has been down for almost 3 weeks now because of a domain name that apparently expired for which you received no prior notice of, and could very well be taken over by squatters now unless we hear back ASAP how to renew the name or why it expired to begin with....

Your lionguys domain is down because it is still registered with Enable Hosting, not us. I have also replied to the support ticket. Yuo need to contact Hassell as soon as possible to get him to Push the domain to us. He will know what that means.

The update hasnt been completed. We ran into some snags updating the OS, and rather than cause extended downtime, i rolled some stuff back. Incidentally, this is causing urchin not to load.

Dont worry though, once i complete the update this weekend, urchin will reload and will catch back up on stats, so it didnt lose any data, its just not running its update process or web process.

And as far as i know, there was no downtime today, the uptime indicator on everything indicates no downtime at all, so maybe an internet routing issue? Who knows.

I made a post on our forums, but I had to reboot the server a bit ago.

I installed some MySQL patches to fix some DB errors people were experiencing, and it wouldnt allow MySQL to come back up normally.

Everything should be good now, but the server is going to be slow for a bit as Urchin was restarted, and has to catch up on all the backlogs.


Oh and what domain ernie? I hope you didnt register to host "domain.com" with us and set your email as "user@domain.com"
