But if we are going to lose, which we will, why do you want Stone on the bench, when he is by far the most likely person to start for us next year? You can say "he wont be the starter" until your face turns blue, but thats HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING. Explain to me what we can gain this year by starting Jay Davis. Explain to me why you want us to have an inexperienced QB playing next year. Explain to me why you have to be such a dick about this. Its not that hard to understand...Davis had his chance, MOVE ON. you know what it boils down to?
i graduate this year
so i don't really care as much about next year as much as you guys b/c i probably won't be around to see games next season
and i know i don't like the way Stone plays
so I'd just rather watch Jay Davis because I like him better than Stone and I won't be here to give a shit about how bad Stone sucks next year11/3/2005 11:26:14 PM |

There's nothing wrong with not getting your hopes up. Thats how I survived last basketball season. There is a problem with totally flamming a guy that hasn't had a fucking chance to prove himself. Why the fuck would you "smile" when he fucks up. I mean shit, you dont have to wish harm on the guy, just dont expect anything good. Nobody makes you get pissed, but someone ought to smash your face into some gravel for smiling when stone fucks up. You are a total douche. Thank you, good day.
^I'm not editing the rest my post cause of that. Why would you start not giving a shit just because you graduated? If you live anywhere in the south east, you can still watch our games. Thats fucking stupid, especially when we aren't going to win with Davis on the field.

last basketball season was a pretty damn good basketball season
i swear, you guys just need to lower your expectations and things will flow easier
i'm not laughing at Stone, I'm laughing at the situation we put ourselves in
if Jay Davis is playing in the USM game then we have more than 1 completion in the first half
but b/c Stone was in there and he threw incompletion after incompletion after interception
all i could do was smile b/c i knew we could have played a better game that first half and the majority of people in carter-finely either didn't realize that or refused to realize that b/c they love Stone so much11/3/2005 11:35:50 PM |

i don't want us to lose
Stone does not give us a better chance to win so i don't agree with him being the starter for now on for the second half of the season
its counterproductive
like i said before, Chuck realizes the season's over so he's just letting Stone play b/c it'll make the fans "happier"
Stone's not in so we can save the season, therefore winning is no longer the goal
if you believe Stone is in to save the season and you think we can make a bowl, you're crazier than i am
since chuck basically said "screw the rest of the season" why not find the positives out of losing and messing up? 11/4/2005 12:01:47 AM |

Therefore, Stone gives us a better chance to win than Davis. 11/4/2005 12:02:57 AM |

weak defensive opponents?
and even if the team does play harder when Stone's in, then we have a very shitty team that definitely lacks character and discipline

yeah seriously man, Southern Miss defense ranks 91st in the country in pass defense.
and yes, I bet the o-line decides to perform well only when a certain qb is in. When Jay is in, they let everyone past them, and when stone is in they decide to be a stone wall b/c that is how it works 11/4/2005 12:06:01 AM |

IF the o-line played SO WELL, where is the blame? why did we have so few yards---a great o-line who loves to block for stone, but only 128 yards...that's odd 11/4/2005 12:14:43 AM |

SOMETHING seemed to motivate them to run all over Southern Mississipi. I think it was the QB switch. The guys played harder with Stone leading the offense.
...although he didn't really lead by example

you know..that's funny too....I don't think so
Southern Miss gives up 404 yards a game (against Conference USA teams and McNeese St.)
We got 425 yards against them. Not a big difference. I don't see this motivation you are talking about. Yeah we moved the ball on the ground...But total yards...pretty much an average game compared to what southern miss is used to seeing. 11/4/2005 12:26:05 AM |

I don't think Davis would have had the game won by halftime....he hasn't consistently moved the ball against anyone this year
face it, it was time for a change....davis record as a starter was 7-10 and two of those wins were EKU and Richmond. That makes him 5-10 against Division 1-A opponents and last year he had the number one defense in the country helping him out all of the time.
Marcus Stone has played a lot in two games in his career (VT last year and S. Miss this year) and we WON both of those games...now was he the sole reason we won and a beast? no. but both games he has played a lot in during his career we won. You want a winner at QB. that is it. stone may not be a great qb, but i will take 2-0 vs. 5-10 any day of the week 11/4/2005 10:50:24 AM |
