not true

the unsharp mask you can do with an 8 meg is a lot better than you can do with a resized version

oh

and heres a tip that helped my final product

don't just automaticaly go from like

2800x1240 in one step

take it in at least 4 or 5 steps or so if you really care about keeping the crispness

and then run a lighter unsharp on it again at the end of the process

shit will be crisp as hell yo

interesting points there -- i was always told to do resizing in one fatal swoop, not staggered

duh. The point is to use the small version as a trial for what to do on the large version so you don't waste a lot of time. For your final product, all operations will be done on the large one then scaled down at the end.

can you guys explain this whole "resizing in stages" thing a little bit more? i mean, what causes the end result to be crisper?

thnx!

I really like the composition of your photographs, especially the gigantic fucking signatures in the corners.

Borders and conspicious signatures are tacky and take away from a photograph.

I agree with the point that you make. However, some type of marking must be done on the internet to protect one's work.

I mean, seriously, watermarking or signing your electronic images is probably the single greatest indicator of thinking you're way better than you actually are.

hell, I try to put a small watermark on almost all of my pictures now, and we do it at work on all proofs and online postings also. I started because I saw someone on here take credit for one of my fireworks pictures in a "post your best picture" thread back in 2004. Someone went to my site, saved it, and then uploaded here in their gallery and claimed it was hers. I figure if they are just going to save it I can put something small in the corner to label it and it might keep the casual theif away. It's all automated anyway for most of my pictures.

fucking bitch, I need to find that thread.

I missed Diplo doing the same venue in Jan, so I made sure to hit this one up, despite the line being all the way down the block to get in.

I enjoyed it. I was told to stop shooting (from floors other than the ground level) about 5 times.
He played "Diplo Rhythm" from Diplo's "Florida" release, and half of the crowd went crazy. Also he slipped in "Ghost Town" from the Snatch soundtrack a few tracks after playing some BS Aaliyah stuff (which was left on too long). I didn't know some of his older samples, and I only caught one or two moments where he was actually playing music from one of his two solo LPs. He's a super nice guy - I spoke with him for a few minutes after the set, and he signed my messenger bag Personally though, I still actually enjoyed seeing Prefuse73 live than RJD2. Perhaps because it was a more intimate venue.

I have an acute inability to walk around with a camera out and not feel like a dick.

That doesn't mean I think other people with cameras are dicks.

But that's how I feel.
